I need a simple pair of black leather shoes for work, longevity and comfort are the priorities (and looking nice, of course).
Recommend away!

I'm not into the chunky storm-welted (clue is in the name) sole combined with off-white suede?!?! Bit of a strange mix no?
They look nice though.

no, in theory it doesn't work but I think they've pulled it off, nice balance and good colours
they'll probably look shit after a day in rain though?

also on the same page as the full grain leather shoes and being discussed on the fashion thread are duck boots. avoid these ones though. they are 75 pounds from albam for a reason, i dont think the reason is because they are out of season.

Those soles don't look very well attached at all. I can see gaps. Not good.

Don't like those^. They look unfinished, like the dye would run straight off in the wet plus they look tatty around the edges.
done. i liked the weight of the stanley but the grain leather is nice.
got them from here
http://www.uniquemenswear.co.uk/grenson-m42
and used a code GOLD25 for 25% off.Good choice.

I take the opposite view, whereas indeed they do appear unfinished, I picture them well worn in, with a beautiful patina from many applications of polish.
And they do look very different when polished. Click on links below.
