  • ^ cheers.

Is there anything to note with the sizing? US, narrow, small, etc?

They're English sizes, at least over here. But coming from a former British colony, that is probably the standard way of sizing the shoes. I think they look narrow, but actually aren't. My hoofs are quite wide, and are in blissful comfort in those shoes.

The leather shine and quality, for the price, fuck that, for any price, is stunning.

  • Gave in, got these. It's a wedding, I'm the groom and figured all the boys will be in tan so standing out and all that...........
Please be gentle. (That's a joke for the record.)

  • you wimped out, should have gone the whole hog with these

  • decision time.
    grenson stanley or william

both in tan the william has a grain to the leather and is unlined (still a reasonable weight leather)
the stanley has a thicker sole and smooth leather.
the archie is the shitkicker version but i'm not interested in those as i already have boots.
i'm off to sainsburys and will be hitting the buy button on my return

    william

    stanley

  • grain

  • +1 on the grain

i bought the archies, really like the look of them but they're still to be comfy for more than a 30min walk

  • wear them around the house

  • None grain for me. Not sure I like the shiny toe bit?

What do people think of these?

  • grain

I have a 6 old pair of grensons in a grain finish and they have just looked better and better as they have aged.

  • done. i liked the weight of the stanley but the grain leather is nice.

    got them from here

and used a code GOLD25 for 25% off.

  • What do people think of these?

they look a bit 'ordinary'. depends what you want to wear with them i guess. personally i'm not an oxfords fan but would prefer a heavier brogue look (like the grenson tom) or something simpler like the tyler i posted a page or so back.

  • wear them around the house

They're comfy part from the non flex of the chunky leather sole, no idea how i'm supposed to 'walk in' 3 layers of thick leather

    over time, i suppose

  • Can't stand thick leather soles. Need to get a new pair of these.

    Not proper? Leeeeeeeeeroy Jenkins>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Those are hideous Ordinata! Looks like someone's stepped on ya toe!

  • I am Sideshow Bob.

Seriously tho, I can't stand the classic style Brogue my old Architecture Boss used to wear. Just makes me think of elbow patches and corduroy.

    Reconsiders in 10 years

  • fucking love elbow patches

  • still got a bit to go for curduroy though

  • The Stanley by a mile. The William looks like snake skin.

  • I have pair of tan Stanleys, very comfortable and looking good with some wear. I was considering going for a pair similar looking Church's, but couldn't get past the value of the Grenson's.
