picked up some grensons in a sample sale today
these to wear with a suit (wedding to go to soon)

and a pair of these but the shoes in the box are a 10 not an 8 so they are going straight to ebay.

sizing is way off, ended up buying a 7 for the smart pointy shoes and will be a 7.5- 8 in the boots.

you mean an 8 (if you are normally a 9) not taken a size seven since i was a 10 year old and still have plenty of toe room.

How much for the size 10's? If they are coming up large like

well i was going to ebay them to go towards a new pair, but the problem is they only cost me £50 in the sample sale and i know they don't have any more (i know this because i went through all the boxes) so if i sell them to a forum member for the same price i'm losing money as they are £160+ in the shops and will probably make a ton on ebay so i can't really sell them to you as people get eggy on here about profiteering.

Could anyone suggest where to get a moderately priced version of these (<£100):

Basically I want a pair of boots (anything over the ankle) which look office smart, but I can use on a motorbike. So rubber soles are a must, and ideally no laces.

Also can you turn brown shoes black?
Thoughts? I've been looking at Asos and Jones have a sale at the mo, anywhere else that might be good?

grenson and i think loake do a commando sole on their brogue boots, you will have to find them on ebay or outlet store to get under £100 though

I bought a brown pair of those (Made in India) ROMBAH WALLACE shoes. Oxfords they are, and bloody marvellous. I shall buy a pair each for 2 of my brothers, and one for my dad. Really, really beautiful shoes, probably produced by highly experienced cobblers in India, for very little money indeed. The prices here are so low, as to be unbelievable.
