  • Yeah we know. Have you seen our thread?^^^

I think there's a possibility that some people are doing both. I might.

    1. Skullator
    2. Oliver Schick
    3. Robespierre
    4. Mike
    5. Rik
    6. Vyvyan
    7. Neil

So... You're saying that a republican ride is going to be attractive to students attending Scumbag College?

  • if this ride finishes before 5, people can do this and the guiness ride. even if it finishes after 5, so long as it's central-ish, the guinness ride will be close enough to join. a phone call and maybe a 15 minute ride, job done
    guinness provisional itinerary http://www.lfgss.com/post1926827-88.html

  • Thanks OLC.

  • Im not trying to muscle in on thar plans already made, I just wasn't sure where to post this. I read yesterday that they are shutting the roads in central London from 4am. Could be worth an early morning blast?

Could be risky, as the reason for the early shut down, is for heightened security checks, clamping and inspecting drains, and other potential threats.

Not sure how well the Security Services would react to a squad of fixxie skidders, and the actual area being closed off is quite small.

  • OK

Sorry for lack of organisation so far but this will be an informal ride.

Leaving Smithfield at 9 am. Going by a roundabout way (avoiding road closures) to Richmond Park for 10 am and then off west. Riding fixed. Happy to ride alone but happier with company. Aim would be to do around 80 to 100 miles. Certainly take in Runnymead where there is a lovely NT cafe but otherwise play it by ear. Longish but steady ride avoiding all the nonsense. Anyone want to come along, let me know either here on by PM. Will be back in plenty of time for the Guiness Ride. As a non driniker, I will not be going along on that one.

  • I am going to try and join you MrO, not because I am a republican but I am anti marriage.

I just don't get the hypocrisy of people who blaspheme more than they pray rocking up in church to sign an almost worthless contract with each other whilst eyeing up the bridesmaids with the loan used to pay for the wedding lasting longer than the marriage.

My view is of course subject to change in line with changes to the tax system.

  • Cliveo

Should we have a BBQ at my place afterward?

Could we arrange for non cycling other halves to make salads and puddings?

Pulled pork, ribs etc done slow on the BBQ?

  • Balls, I can't make this but would have been very keen. Instead I am doing boring stuff in preparation for moving house. :-/

  • James

I am without family. Two are in Central America and the third will be in Scotland. My salad and pudding production is far from wonderful. Am trying to do three or four 100ish mile rides over that weekend and so am not sure that I am able to be seduced by the undenialable delights of a prancing bbq.

Ramaye. MrsO and I celebrate our Silver Wedding in two months. Different strokes for different folks.

  • no watermelon and feta salad?

I only like you for Mrs O's culinary skills

  • I'll be there, Clive.

  • Sounds good.

  • So Smithfield at 9:00am junction with St John Street.

Roehampton Gate cafe at around 10am depending on quite how long it takes to get across town. Usual routes will be closed.

My number is on the phone numbers thread.

    See you then.

    Finish at LMNH.

  • So Smithfield at 9:00am junction with St John Street.

Just in case other people have similar mindset to me, it's a Bank Holiday and Smiths won't be open for bacon butties until 9.30 so you will need to get your breakfast elsewhere.

    Boo

  • Clive: Will you be throwing in a lap of RP?
(I may be able to swing it so that I can do some RP laps, then attend the "we're not watching it, but it'll be on the telly" bbq my friends are hosting)
It would be good to see you, do a circuit and then wave you off on on your merry Republican way.

    25 years?? Congratulations!

  • Good to see the big man upstairs on on our side, forecast for Friday is showers; "I piss on your pageantry".

  • We have a wedding window at work.

I'm going to get all stabby stabby very, very soon.

People are mocking as they walk past.

  • I have faced many humiliations since I started working in 1975 but none of them compare to having a "Wedding Window".

Thank you for sharing that Andy and for making me a little happier with my lot.

We will be guided by the popular vote but should do at least half a lap ;o)

  • Bollocks. I've just received an invite via gmail. It appears I'm getting the 9am train to Barnes.

  • this is on radar clive. won't meet at smiths as won't make sense for me to cross the river just to get caught up in stuff that i don't want to get caught up in.

  • jonny, hopefully see you at Roehampton Gate.
