Bump, I would like to get at least another 20 on the list, so that we can order 50+, to make it worth while.

i found the MKE one's lighter and a little more noodly / whippy. Garys poles are stiffer but I wouldnt say heavier. As Mark said you could have one of each. The weather plays a part too remember. I played with MKE in the summer and all of them ended up a little bent in the warm. Gary's i have only played in the winter so maybe i think they are stiffer for this reason? Either way, they are both very equal in everything except i haven't broken a Perro, but have broken an MKE. But you know me guys, i have that light touch.

I haven't played with a MKE pole so i will take 2 to try it out.

The perro poles: well the first two i got from Alej at the worlds were awesome, i'm still using one and the other one i bent because i was pissed off waiting for a pick up game to end. Not the fault of the pole.

However the one that i built up from the second batch,(the london group order) bent in the first game and a few other people have had problems with them breaking prematurely.

Were they different batches from the supplier Alej?

Aren't MKE and Perros technically the same poles (same taper, 1mm gauge 7075)? Granted that MKE has the additional orange paint.

I've used both and couldn't tell the difference. I'm sticking with Alejandro poles as they've served me well... plus orange clashes with the fire engine.

The Perros poles were a new order from the same supplier, there should have been no difference in quality at all.

Not sure exactly how aluminium behaves with respect to temperature, but generally you would expect it to be more brittle the colder it gets, more pliable when warmer.

I would be surprised if +/- 20 C made a big difference, but perhaps there is something in that.

They are supposed to be all exactly the same. No change in specs, not even different batches. I will inquire with the manufacturer. I don't want my stuff to be of inconsistent quality.

I'll put myself on the list for a couple when I see a price.

I just looked at one of each, and although I don't have callipers, the MKE poles look like they have a thicker wall, not identical. But it may be where I have cut (if the wall thickness changes dramatically), as I cut the nub off of Ale poles, bot usually keep the taper on other poles.

The wall thickness will increase as the pole tapers (the same amount of aluminium is taking up a smaller space, etc). The other end would be good for a comparison though.

Yeah, that's what I was figuring. The other ends are capped, so can't really compare without too much hassle.

As mentioned earlier, I'm happy to order more Perros if people want some. I'm only getting the MKEs now as people have asked specifically for them.
