because .8mm poles are shit? 30g lighter once its cut down, lasts 10 games at most.

Your shot lacks finesse.

Been using Magic 0.8 since day one, I've never broken one. Don't hack, make sure you hit the ball and stop crashing. 0.8s have lasted me through international tournaments.
0.8 is more delicate, there's no getting round that, but that one negative should work in your favour; it should make you reconsider the style of your play that leads to your broken mallets.
If other people are breaking your mallets then you have a problem in your scene.

Depends how you play with them. I used an 0.8mm shaft for 6 months, lots of pickup and 4 tournaments. But then other players will break them in a few games, because they hack, or hit their bike on the swing. They aren't for everyone, but many players prefer them.
Edit: what Rupert said

If you can, do. If you can't, don't.

Does anyone actually feel the difference between 'standard' and 'light' shafts? Apparently the standard perro shaft is 1.1 and i've been using it for years. I'll be using the milk tough from now on because i've never had a problem with weight and I dont want to break my mallets in the future. #csb

Played two games with a 1.0 shaft last night and nearly vomited. Never. Doing. That. Again. I don't like my mallet moving slower than my reactions. Maybe I'm just not as good at anticipating as you double-hards on the tough shafts.
Horses courses etc.

This and the hand fatigue caused by a non- paul lever means I need sit out every other game.

I suppose its just like anything you have to play with it for a while to get used to it. I feel that if you play with a heavier mallet (Josh was using the Fixcraft tough with FC pickup head) and get used to it (and in turn strengthen your wrist) then switching to a 'standard' mallet like Josh did (magic 1mm + emerald) it will feel good and you will still have a strong mallet?

I suppose. The main thing to remember is that none of this matters and we're all bored.

Does the LHBPA have perro and perro light in stock and could I pick some up this weekend/monday?
-
• #1542
I can't say for sure but check with Jess as she's holding all the Perro poles while Brendan has all the riks.
-
• #1543
Yes, I seem to have Riks floating around my house now too. Are you coming down for London's Calling Fin? I'll be around, just message me.
