Okey thanks mate - rolling mostly, but with some significant climbs too. Think I'll risk it fixed.
It'll be similar to some of the tougher TNRC routes. I'm not sure of the exact route but I think you are climbing up from Combe village to Combe Gibbet which is a fairly tough climb as there is a steep, exposed section after the village. The climb over Watership Down itself is also pretty steep, albeit fairly briefly.

There's a few minor lumps between those two hills too, and a very steep (20% or so) downhill after Combe Gibbet. (Or Combe Gibblets as my friend Claire insists it's called).

Finally got the forms off. Hope Sue has still got time / room for Mrak & me.
I know this is heresy but Audax newbs might want to consider these:

I got the Klick-fix Mini Map 1.
They save a lot of fumbling for maps & route cards.

I can always come anyway, isn't it? Are they going to throw me away? -

Bah, the xmas rush nobbled me and I never got the forms off. Tika they are pretty explicit about no entry on the day!
-
• #189
I sent my form today.
-
• #190
I saw this on the form, really small type
The organiser may refuse, or charge more for, late entries on the day
so it may be possible to enter on the day.

Definitely worth a shout.
You'll just have to lead from the start ; ) -
• #192
i didn't get it! Is the above for me?
-
• #193
@ tika - I meant that they wouldn't be able to catch you to throw you out if you're in the lead from the very start.
Ignore me.In other news... Still no news from camp Cooper.

garmin? will it work!
@ shoots I was thinking that. nobody will stop me if i go and do it!Audax UK have a deal with NASA that temporarily disables all GPS satellites overflying the route so Garmins and their ilk don't work, ensuring you need to brush up on your map reading skills.
Yes, it does. Brevet Populaire. You won't get your brevet stamped by ACP, but what the hey?
Although why I am answering a question that is answered in the OP is beyond me.
Must be the season of goodwill.
