My dad is Rico Daniels aka the Salvager, his tv show used to be on discovery home & leisure and now it's on quest channel I think.
YouTube - My award winning trailer for the second series of The Salvager.
I was shown this by some friends a couple of months ago. They love the show. Is he still living in France?

yeah, he lives in the farmhouse where they filmed half of the second series of the show.
he had a mild stroke in march last year though (he's recovering from it ok thankfully) but the family is putting pressure on him to move back to the uk so we can keep a better eye on him. shame really, living in the wilds of france really suits him not sure he could hack moving back to essex now.

dad.. :(
by the way, this thread is ridiculous. a lot of you must work for shit newspapers or something. -

Wow that's such a shame, I'm glad he's recovering though. From what I saw he was really enjoying himself. In the episode I was shown he built a green house and a very odd scarecrow/sculpture.
Seems like a lovely chap. Very enthusiastic about what he does, that's what makes for good TV in my book.

shit but slightly swanky tv company, see lots of faces, but can't really claim most of them cus I have to keep a poker face the whole time and not really talk to them, there have been a few nice exceptions though
weird place to work

I think famous people are better than other people. One day I'd like to pretend to ignore a famous person and have them genuinely ignore me.

Most of the time i'm not bothered, but it would have nice to been able to say hello to Stephen Fry without management getting the huff

I was a motherfuckingpowerranger.
I used to work as a toddler-model, and did some modelling/acting for commercials while I was at primary school. Was on the tv a few times, and some billboard/magazine ads etc.
Best thing I ever did was dress up as the red power ranger at olympia toy fair, when the power rangers were a big deal. Got to run around all day shooting shit with a toy gun, and showing off the suit. Ended up being on the tv with that too, I think. On the news or something.

I was part of the blagging crew known as Menswear before people took it seriously and a real band emerged from it..
Er they were my neighbours. That is Johnny and Simon. They used to live in a flat owned by Shakin Stevens!

Missed this.
Was in same class as Martin Corry of England rugby captain fame, in fact I even played in the same team as him. He was a good goalkeeper, then one year seemed to gain 6" in height and 4 stone.

Stand by to be underwhelmed.
I once played an "american packpacker" and did a sex-scene in a Thai soap opera. I had to wear a pair of pants and a pink feather boa. I bought a portable cd player (it was the 90s) with the money.
I recently found an album I played on in the bargain bin of a local second hand record shop. I have yet to receive a penny from the presumably meagre sales of this record. I did however once see myself in the video of the single being played on a big screen in Top Shop. Every cloud.
I once met Tommy Vance backstage at the Brixton Academy and we had a really nice long chat. He was very nice.
I was unsuccessfully prosecuted by the BTP in a case that resulted in pedicabs becoming legal in London. Years later I met the magistrate who aquitted me, doing magic tricks at a 60th birthday dinner.
Whilst a pedicab rider I took Suggs out of Madness from Soho to an album launch in Kensington. I went under the hyde park underpass and the chain came off at the bottom. He and his companion had to get out and walk out of the underpass. He was late for the party and annoyed that all the photographers had gone. Two years ago, a band I was in opened for Madness at an outdoor gig. Someone told him who I was and he still appeared to be grumpy about it. We also got told off for drinking madness' beer. Their roadcrew were also a bunch of twats so we stole the beer and left without watching Madness.
Marc Riley played a 7" single I self released with another band. He also once read out an email from me and played my request (+81 by Deerhoof).
I was in an advert for EF Language Schools. This was a clip from one of their educational videos in which I played a surfer teaching two Swedish girls how to surf (although I couldn't really surf either). One of them had their wetsuit on back-to-front.
Gary Lucas (ex Magic band and Jeff Buckley collaborator) borrowed my guitar to play "Grace" at a party on a boat. He was a cock and no one paid any attention to him. He wrote about it in his blog the next day saying how amazing it was. The cock.
Most of my friends work in telly and have squillions of "had a pint with" stories. My missus knows loads of famous people too, mostly politicians. But that little lot is about the sum of 34 years worth of brushes with minor celebrity.

Meh.
I once appeared in "Crash" magazine, aimed at nerds who owned Sinclair Spectrums.

I co-wrote a poke for The Dark Side with someone else. Thinking about it, it may have appeared in Your Sinclair. Sorry.
edit if you Google "the dark side poke roy goodall sam day" it shows up as the first result but the web hosting has expired. Or something.
