  • I think Contador might do that. I reckon he is playing defensive game at the moment with a bit of bluffing keeping others at fairly safe distance and will launch a massive attack in the Alps leaving others with no stages to respond on.

Well one of the 3 or 4 favourites has to do something, they are waiting for that moment. You've got to be feeling 100% up for it and pick the perfect time, Matador should not be ruled out at this stage.

Of course, you're going to have to expect the others to come straight after you. I really want to see Tubbs and Toreador go head to head in the Alps whilst the brothers slim spend too much time looking for each other's bums and get left behind.

  • ^^ I also think that it looked very desperate from Schlecks. I think Contador might do that. Contador looks happy just being able to stay with the other favourites, I can't see him having the legs to attack in the Alps, especially as it's rare for anyone's form to improve in the final week.

I also can't see Voeckler winning it but he'll be growing in confidence as each day passes with him in yellow, but even if he stays with everyone in the remaining mountain stages his time trialling isn't good enough to hold off someone like Evans over 42 kms.

It's an interesting race, no-one looks like they are yet prepared to gamble everything on a race winning attack, so none of the top 7 can be ruled out yet.

  • ooF!

  • Did he have a run in with a bear?

  • ^Based on that I reckon I could do a job as TDF doctor

  • What the hell happened to navarro? Last year he whipped up the whole climb with contador right behind him, this year he was cracked early in the climbs?

One way he could win it is if Contador remains off colour.
Contador might just be able to hang in, and just have enough strength to neutralize any attacks without being able to attack himself. That's the way he's been riding so far. If he keeps doing that, he'll be doing the watchdog job for Voeckler.
His other secret weapon is the truly awesome Pierre Roland. What a rider! He's reeling in any naughty riders, setting a blistering pace on the front, playing guardian angel for Voeckler. I'm loving the way two French lads have taken control of their own race, even if it might not last until Paris.

I honestly think this is the best edition of the Tour I've ever watched.

  • Oh, and the Schlecks are falling into the old trap of hanging about waiting for each other and then not attacking until it's too late. There's no point giving it full gas fifty feet from the finish, you gangly twonk.

  • ooF!

I personally think that's an improvement.

He always looks like he's had a botched face transplant.

  • this tour is great but i have no interest in the ass-watching of leoschlek and bert, it's like watching 3 bum pals decide whose cock is going to get touched first. they are a boring bunch of prick teasers who stare at each others bums, 'after you Andy', 'no thanks i'm fine here', shall we go now? 'im not going on my own it's not safe', is alby coming too?' 'hi chaps, you look lovely together, i love how your buns jiggle'.
    zzzzzzzzzzz..........

  • Laurens ten Dam started the stage today. big ups. he said: 'I have 25 stitches less than Johnny, so... you don't quit the Tour because of a swollen lip'

btw not a very nice thing to say luci

  • 'I have 25 stitches less than Johnny"

He must be in difficulties. He should have said:

'I have 25 stitches fewer than Johnny"

  • Big thunderstorms over here today. Not sure about Montpellier but it's fscking wet here. Moist, what a word

  • Any southies up for watching?

I honestly think bertie hasn't got the gas - he's close to the edge. Basso was pretty active yesterday, keeping the pace uncomfortably high for most of the favourites. This stopped the Schlecks attacking and kept Evans under pressure.

I'd never describe the racing as dull though. You forget just how fast they're going, and how fucking knackering even a single dig can be.

I admire the guy's riding style, and his guts for getting back on the bike, but there's no getting away from the fact he looks like he's wearing a melted monster mask.

  • I bloody love the Skoda ad

  • +1 tis fab

  • Can only find one tweet about it but today's L'Etape stage has been abandoned because of weather.

  • Isn't Highroad's sponsorship deadline tomorrow?

  • What a dull stage... snore

HTC are going to renew for another 3 years. Apparently all the attention their phones have been getting in the Android thread here was the deal clincher.

  • What a dull stage... snore

It's a long way from the Pyrenees to the Alps, with not much of interest in between...

  • He is going to do it!

  • Great job from Renshaw again
