  • Always fancied a boat but never had one

  • Tbh like planes more hassle than it's worth.

3 burnt out motors, a night spent on an island. Knee high in a pond Etc.

In the UK space is a rare commodity and u can bet they don't like RC.

Especially if it's fast and loud.

  • a night spent on an island

    Wat

  • Not me fortunately. I lost control on a lake with an island in the middle. Employed my younger brother to retrieve it by boat on another day. He found it in the reeds on said island. #csb

  • Apologies in advance for a possible stupid question.

I am building a TT02, bought an oil diff hop up.
As it's 4wd, do I fit this one in the back or the front? Or should I have bought 2?
I imagine it should be at the back, but not sure what I am basing this on really

  • Depends on the characteristics you want. I'd be tempted to start with the front, and make it stiff.

    (This confirms)

As a rule, when you run at the racetrack you want your front differential to be stiffer than the rear to ensure that the chassis handles well around the corner.

  • I would have bought two (and am considering it for my TT02B), but failing that... what @Howard said.

  • Cheers both.

I'll go with it up front to begin and maybe buy another for the rear.

I've read loads of stuff from TheRCRacer, including is review of the diff, but somehow missed that article!

    Onwards with the build now

  • Fantom progress.

  • That is way cool. I used to race Mardave Ministocks up at Crystal Palace back in the day and all the fast guys used to try and emulate the chassis setups on cars like these. I wouldn't have guessed this was a 1983 design!

  • It’s an incredible chassis. Geared to go like a missile and it goes exactly where you point it. Apparently.

  • Found this at my parent’s when I was going through old stuff. Probably last used early/mid 90s. I got rid of all my rc car stuff many years ago, somehow this missed the cull. Anyone want it for £10 posted? Message me if you’re interested.

  • In case anyone's looking for a rather fine Monster Beetle homage:

    http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202306238850484?atmobcid=soc3

  • I have a stick transmitter (no receiver) for sale, if anyone needs one. 2-channel, both channels trimmable and reversible. 2.4GHz, 4xAA batteries.

Brand new in box, completely unused.

Carson Reflex Stick Pro 3.1 - £25 or £30 posted.

  • Been meaning to make a storage shelf for my cars for years - finally got around to it this weekend. Maybe a bit big and over engineered, but it frees up a bunch of shelf space so pretty happy with it

  • How's the Audi going?

  • It's excellent - pretty fast and it's been reliable. I haven't taken it out for a while though - last time though was to run a bit with a nine year old's car last summer, he was well into it - think he'll be getting something to build in the next couple of Christmases...

  • Good stuff. I remember buying it when I was young free and single (mid 90s maybe?) the going down the hop up rabbit hole. I may still have some bits knocking about if you want them? Might have chucked them out though.

I probably only used it three or four times

  • Thanks! Don't go searching though, it's working pretty nicely at the minute and I wouldn't change anything immediately. I've still got the box you gave me with all the packaging of the hop ups - it's really pimped out.

Having had a fiddle this afternoon I might put some less slick tyres on it though and take it out in the next couple of weeks.

  • Hope u look after your RC better than yo geetar

  • Got it on eBay for £30 including all hardware! Think it might be an Epiphone rather than a Gibson but still way cheaper than the wood I'd otherwise have bought to build that body.

It's next on my build list for a new neck :)
