Locking up in Hackney: D-lock through back wheel / frame, mini D-lock through front wheel and fork.....girlfriends d-lock through frame too haha. Was still worried I'd come back to a saddlelss, barless, stemless, tyreless bike.

Front D isn't working as hard as it could.
It would be more secure to have the front wheel straight then feed the D through the rim and then around the bike frame and the Sheffield stand .
Like this.
Random picture stolen off the internetsIs it just about doable with 30mm deep rims, and standard Sheffield stand, 531ish gauge tubing and a KryptoEvo Mini D

cross posting on scobles request from the locks that work thread...
finally got a chance to take pics of the mini fagh locking rear(dp18 rim/28c tyre)/frame/sheffield stand.

I also figured out how to lock my front/frame/sheffield stand with an evo mini for the first time too...
dredging mine up for reference also...

Wheel's not secured.

can it barkspin?

Does spraying a good bike 2 make it look crap make any difference? I'm so sick of my bikes getting nicked.

Mine and Ada's bikes locked together at Westfield Stratford.
Just in case you can't see - there is a mini evo, two fahgs, kryptonite chain, fahg chain and a series 2 kryptolok.
BEAST!

saddle?
-
• #290
someone nicked your saddle.
-
• #291
possibly not the best practice
i would have used the fahg's to lock the rear wheels rim and rear triangle of each bike to the sheffield stand, then the weaker shackle locks to keep the front wheels locked to either the frames or the stand
the cable lock is fairly pointless, the big chain lock a little superflous
if someone was coming to the game able to hack the two fahg locks the tiny padlock on the chain would be an easy job for them

I agree, it's a poor example.
Done in a hurry, we're running late, didn't have time to think it through.
Jake's front wheel = fail. -
• #293
so why was it posted here? should be in the how not to lock thread
-
• #294
its not that bad.. jeez
-
• #295
Yeah, fuck. No one nicked it, and no one would.
-
• #296
so they took all the time to remove the saddle but not enough to lock the bikes in the best manner given the arsenal available to them. not exactly an awesome job

I think this is a fail due to lock/weight economy. Sure the bikes are secure, but you are definitely not making the most of the locks you have there. Of which there are probably too many.

They should be ashamed of themselves. Flaunting their sub-optimal locking like some tart with torn knickers. No one wants to see that. For shame!

I'd have a sticky-beak

^me too, magistrates should always adhere to the law.
When it comes to swarm season (about now), the waiting list can get quite long (ask your local apiary to get on the list), and you can never own a swarm. So if your bees swarm, you have to follow them or be prepared to wait...
