The biggest deterrent is clearly the threatening sticker on the DT
Yeah I've wondered whether it's in fact more of an incentive, but so far no-one has taken me up on my offer.

Here you go. At my work this morning. It's a semi secure basement but a big building with deliverys and workmen coming in and out all day. Nice combo lock for a 5-6k bike.

This is how I lock up. Excellent deterrant for the thief of diminutive stature. Apologies for hipstermatic photo - not my work

I go for the standard mini evo and fahg combo.

Whereabouts in Bournemouth has this happened to you? Interested to know because I've never had a problem here.
Sorry, haven't been on this thread for a while, mostly at the uni but I've seen a couple in town and by the station as well.

Read an interesting thought on securing parts to a bike this morning, similar to the bb trick.
However, for say, in the crank arm, melting a bunch of solder in there and then just heating and sucking it out when you need to? For say on Omniums.Thoughts?

you can melt solder with a lighter so it's an awful lot easier to get out than the bb/superglue approach.

Perfect response. Thanks. Superglue it is.

Shame it's locked so as to jut out at the entrance to some stairs.
-
• #267
well there was nothing more solid than tht around 20 bikes locked arnd

• #268
shame that, that expensive aero fork has a million spacers pilled on top of it.

a new line in organic theft prevention devices?

It's all good I didn't really like my bike anyway.

is the bee bike yours? The pic turned up in my twitter feed somehow.
I actually know someone who wants a swarm of bees (they have got an empty hive for honey making). It's easy to get folks to come and take the bees away, apparently swarms are quite the commodity.
-
• #272
Tynan's security paste works like that but with a swarm of flies instead.
-
• #273
yeah but the honey's shit

I'm going to be locking my bike about 3m from (behind!) the firing point at the range tomorrow.

Shame the rear light is blocked by the saddle chain
