Just to ensure that I adhere to my usual pre-climb eticate;
"I'm not doing it!"
"I don't even like bikes"

Aside from Zoncolan as we already know which side we will be riding, I've listed all possible climbs for each so that we can discuss which climbs we'd like to do. -

the royal family take ages to die and they never do any hard work
just saying

dont miss out the other big climbs next to those classics - if you're going to Alp d'Huez, the Glandon/Croix de Fer, the Telegraph, and the stunning Galibier are just round the corner (I've a feeling the tour will take in the Galibier next year).
In the Pyrenees you can easily put together a route to take in the Marie Blanc ('10 Etape), Peyresourde, Aspin, Aubisque or Soulor. easy job.
bling carbon road wheels? Edge.

You hear that boys, we're being told that we won't be doing enough climbing.
6,892 metres over 86.4 kilometres just isn't enough.
The 7.98% average just won't cut it. -
• #88
yeah. the stats are for those climbs only? I'd kill for 7000m of constant climbing over 86k's - unless you're only doing the climbs, back-to-back, in which case I admire your stamina for trans-europe driving.
get stuck in, you'd be mad not to!
oh, probably best to go for deep sections with regular braking surface if you intend to ride them in the hills. I've seen a couple of full carbon rims in pieces this year (inc a Lightweight) from being cooked by the braking heat.

Are these any good?

As I don't/can't/have no inclination to drive, It'll be over to the others.
I would hope that each stop will include a decent ride, with a particular nominated climb as the centrepiece for the day but certianly not the only climb of each day's riding.
Basically, knowing our previous history, we'll turn up to where ever, set out with a vague plan and end up at the top of each of these climbs at some point, hopefully having covered some beautiful countryside in the mean time.I'm also more than happy for the others to nominate climbs which they wish to complete outside of the five that I've nominated.

Thule 9708 looks ok, and Dwayne I am guessing that those don't take a shimano freehub?!
-

Fulcrum ones should be the same, and fit shimano.
Edit: Ironically, wiggle has the campag ones for both fits, but the fulcrum ones (made speciffically so people could use them on non-campag drivetrains) are only available for campag

If your doing Ventoux, it's got to be the Bedoin side, 'cos that's the way the Tour goes (and the way Tommy went). Could also do a ride around the base of Ventoux and pop to here

They have a very good reputation, not the lightest around but very stiff and robust.
What's your budget Neil?

Done this fixed two years in a row now.
Was fecking orrible at the top this year, temps just below zero, icey fog, and raining sideways. Could'nt run or cycle properly for weeks after.
I'd stick to southern europe if I was you.
