Partially agree, but look at the difference in head tube length from right to left.

without a question - just a comment on how the image does not illustrate it at all!

Am I right in thinking Canyon frames used to bit a little more subtle in terms of branding in the past?
Hurts my eyes.

Only some version are shouty.
On a related note I'm really sad they've stopped doing other colours - they used to have a really nice cherry red and apple green, as well as the subtle moutain rescue orange on the CF SLX (although I might be slightly biased on this one), seems a real shame to be stuck with b/w or w/b -

I think I might start saving now for the latest cf slx; £3k with DA. Road.cc did a decent 'first look' on Friday of the one they have in for review.

The Canyon fund is almost at the target for the Roadlite so I'd asked the wife todo a quick measure for the calculator on the site. Quite surprised To be recommended the XS(50), when my other bikes have been 53cm ctc. Inclined to trust them though as I do have a shortish inseam (31") in relation to my height (5'9").
I'll do a more careful measure when I'm ready to order, but wondered how others had found the sizing/fit going on the calculator.

^^^Mr B, do those decals just peel off?
-
• #161
Ignore all recommendation if they're from Canyon, they recommended bike smaller than idea.

Yes. I cut them with a scalpel and just peeled the KSYRIUMKSYRIUMKSYRIUM off.

I agree.
Canyon say I should have a 56 when my 54 is perfect for me

What? That's the opposite.

Sarcasm fail on my part probably...

They also said Hoke should have a frame a size larger, which he has now swapped for the right size.

Nope. Reading fail on mine.
I agree that their fit calculator is rubbish though.
-
• #168
They seem to have a recommended stem length for each frame size (optimum weight distribution / handling / blah reasons probably)- which I guess is maybe why the fit calc is so dodgy.

fit calculator mamil friendly, less seatpost showing = smaller drop
-
• #170
T-V was saying he wanted more drop on his ideally.
-
• #171
from the looks of the picture on the last page (negative stem, not much seatpost), he could easily go down a size and get lower without it being silly.

fit calculator mamil friendly
Oddly enough, the headtube length on Canyon frame are massive compared to the other, something like a full 20-30mm longer (a typical 54cm tend to have 130-140mm, the Canyon is 175mm).

Canyon are definitely T-Rexes friendly thought.

Agreed
Their calculator suggested a 50cm for me
When I cross-referenced the geometry of my current bikes with the Canyon chart, I came up with a 52cm, which I ordered and hey presto it is just right for me
fit calculator mamil friendly, less seatpost showing = smaller drop
Surely by recommending a smaller frame you would have more seatpost showing, not less. And a bigger drop. I;d say their calculator is Mamil-unfriendly.

The fit calculator isn't good, but the geometry charts give reach and stack, so you can compare that to your existing set-up to get the right size.
As noted, mine is borderline too big for me.
haha this picture is so wrong, notice how he has different hand placement on every picture, hardly proving any point..
