To live, your visits are shit... Bring more money next time...

  • Thanks grandpa.
To live?... yo must be high(er than me).

  • Anything close to Peckham scares the living shit outta moi.

  • sorry to lower the tone you don't mention cash but this does rather impact it and lot of variation, space vs location

Lived Barbican - 1 month, Surrey Quays 3 month, Shad Thames 1 year, Clapham 3 months, Kensington 1 year all renting then bought in Camden 13 years ago, having worked out you get a lot more for your cash, but Camden has changed, lost a lot of its uniqueness, too many of the coffee chains etc but good training in the park............

Why? There are some great places in and around the 'ham.

  • Islington is nice apart from the grim bits around Dalston.

Also, shouldn't Mergatron be along in a bit?

  • She's on her way...

I was living in London Bridge/Borough 6yrs ago. Used to shop around Camberwell, Peckham, Brixton, etc...
Peckham has always been dodgy for me. I got violently attacked by a cracked head, 3pm, broad day light. No attempt to rob me or anything, just pure violence.
Nothing happened to me, apart from the scare, but got me done for life about the area.

  • depends entirely on budget and effort.

Despite the rest of the countries total oversupply of housing, in London, as ever, people fight like mad. You might find a really nice spot, but its gone while your still viewing it :(

    I vote, get a boat :p

  • effort I can do, time might be a problem in terms of how much time I can spend actually in london looking for a place. I think I should about 800-900 ish for a one bed room or studio flat.

  • lulz, my 2bedroom falt in Clapton goes for 800gn a month.
    But ok.

  • Gloucester Road you say, I live on London's own Gloucester Road, but it doesn't have much of vibe really and if it does then it's quite subtle. The bloke next door sporadically plays mainstream music from the last 3 decades extremely loud but it's always off by 8pm. Fancy a midnight snack, no problem, a wide array of fruit and veg is available right into the early hours at the local shops.

check out rightmove.co.uk, Camden could be a challenge at that price range, best bet to crash with a friend if you can for a bit

  • Yeah Camden and Kentish Town are cool.

if you are from the home counties and on a college day trip

  • Aren't you going to change your avatar now that he's dead?

  • Aren't you going to change your avatar now that he's dead?

why? there's plenty of people on here with avatars depicting the deceased.

  • I've not got the job yet, I've only got a first round telephone interview but I want to make sure I'm happy with moving to london before I get committed. It's pretty central london, near the old street station, without giving too much away.

  • On no account should you consider south London, it's totally metal.

  • MOAAr precisely
