    (no spaces)

Just wanted to see if writing it out in full did anything different.

  • all this aside i can reassure myself that in london i am never all that far from stratford

    the only place to live

  • the only place to live

    Claptown.

  • Claptown.

eurgh, now just off marylebone high st, that was an address

  • Claptown = Clapton.

  • ...a decent size studio flat...

    ...is a contradiction in terms.

I currently live in a very small one in W10, where the helmets live apparently, and am looking for another in the same area. Not much change from £1000 a month now. Rents have shot up since I moved in.

  • Claptown = Clapton.

    no, really..?!

  • Really. No jokes.

  • having resided in clapton, homerton, walthy, 7 sisters, i'd have to say they were all pretty rum, sawwy

  • I am a bit fed up with Claptown TBF, being St.Newington the last remaining corner I'd consider.

  • [decent size studio flat]...is a contradiction in terms.

Well obviously she's not expecting a massive place but we viewed a studio that was pretty much the size of a small halls of residence room with a stove and fridge shoved in the corner and no space for a wardrobe and they still wanted £600 a month for it. I shudder at the memory. It was so grim.

  • Modern living innit. All the Bright Young Things are at it, with their subversive posters on the walls and their anguish within easy reach alongside the Pot Noodles.

Sounds all like a gigantic cunt soup to me.

  • Post-graduation life is hard. Unless you sponge off your employed boyfriend and live in N1.

waves from the other end of W10

    £1,000 a month, really?

  • Give or take. Certainly above what I pay now. Comes as a surprise when you've had no reason to look for a while.

  • I'd consider that cheap, mind you, you did say studio, right?

If you look on the other side of Chamberlayne Road or Harrow Road and you might be lucky to get something a little more spacious for that sort of money..

  • A very small studio for £1000 pcm? >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (even in w10)
I live in a 2 bedroom flat, living room, etc, etc, etc... 800 nuggets pcm.
    That's Claptown.

  • £1,250 for a one bed with garden in W10 I really should have told my landlady to >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Thanks pisti. The nice enough properties is what brought me to the area, i was looking in brixton, but for the budget all that seems to be is ex-council houses, read shit holes, and i can't find anything in budget in Herne Hill.

    Hmm.

  • Sounds all like a gigantic cunt soup to me.

    Food thread

  • hey all,
I might get the chance to work a cool job in central london (kinda islington) and I was wondering where would be a good place to live? I'm currently in bristol and love the gloucester road vibe here. I'm looking for somewhere quiet and close to night life of the house and hiphop rather than metal variety. Is camden/kentish town the place to be?

I did a search on here is east really the place to be?

  • East for sure. Harold Hill is lovely at this time of year.

  • hiphop is in chelsea and kensington.
