I have a beat up £250er.
it rocks.

Nah, doesn't wash hippy, just like you ;p
I'm not too bothered. I'm no fan of old steel frames for anything other than commute/beater duties. I don't care how posh they are - I have no interest in them.
I don't believe something being old makes it less likely to fail just because it has been around for 25 years. What if it has sat in a garage for 25 years doing nothing? What if it was at the bottom of the Thames for 10 years? Bike design and manufacturing has improved - I choose to embrace this improvement.Like this..

Recession? I'm part of an operating crew in a large nuclear plant. Power's gotta be made, recession or no. I'm just fortunate to have chosen this occupation after university over 2 decades ago.
The Puma I have owned since new (2000ish). I changed the fork to go threadless and had the custom paint done. The paint is flawless. It now sports the Reynolds Stratus wheels that are pictured on the Wilier, and the FSA crank on the Wilier has been replaced with a Record compact, as on the Puma.

I was only kidding, the bikes are very nice indeed, I am probably more than a little jealous!
Look like they're well taken care of too.

can I put my gf in touch with you?
She is obsessed with nuclear power, and would love to work in the 'industry', and probably has a million and 1 questions.
PM me with an email address if that's ok.
Cheers.

There's too much porn around this thread.
Here's one that I found in the Thames.
One like it used to belong to my father, so I rebuilt this with better old shit than Campag.
It's tired; fatigued, and damaged, and steel.
I like it for the nostalgic reasons Mr Smyth doesn't 'do.'
I got overtaken while riding it around Richmond Park this evening. Wankers.

Where's the Rubble?!

well that depends if it's a prodigy or a super prodigy? columbus sent them the wrong spec tubes so some some were lighter than others so they decided to make them all with the lighter tubes and call it a super-prodigy.
