  • Where's the Rubble?!

I don't have it any more. I retired it.
The more astute readers will note the same worn out groupset appearing on the Kinesis..

  • i was 'cruising'

  • Nothing new there..

  • My 'nago.
Doesn't see half enough road as it deserves.

  • I want a 'nag more than any other bike out there.

Malaysian I love that Hetchins. Hippy's stable just makes me proper jealous...

  • A Kona Zing Deluxe

The Colnago which is slowly being stripped for cleaning and rebuild

Theres an OnOne inbred in there too somewhere - the garage is chaos at the moment.

The Colnagos in this thread are stunning - need to raise my game with a new one..

  • I've been happily riding this around for the last few months.

SLX frame, 80's components and 90's wheels. The brakes are crap though.

I may get a modern road bike next year, but sometimes think since I'm not racing it what's the point.

  • Ive seen that bike before dmczone - do you work for bbc? It was locked outside where I work at grafton house about a month back? Maybe you were just hanging round great portland street.

  • No, it wasn't me.

  • wow, there is a close to identical bike to yours some where in this big city

  • Old, but not in any way obselete IMO. Yeah the brakes are a bit poky, but meh. I'd rather have old shit that I can maintain myself than new stuff I need a bike shop for.

Beater, for pubs, panniers, shit weather, off road paths. Fucking lovely.

  • A geared road bike is definitely the next bike I'll get. Though as much as I want a plastic fantastic I'll probably end up getting some old steel shitter - my C2W offering at work is only £750 which rules out a half decent OTP and I'm not a good enough cyclist to do a quality machine justice. So it'll be some second hand monster while I improve my fitness and save up!

  • My only geared bike is this one. Which is for harsh winter commuting and as a workhorse.

I have started amassing parts for a mid-life-crisis plastic uber racer though.

  • Must have been a very low tide to get them that big.

I was looking at those just 5 mins ago, found a bargain deal anywhere?

  • You're too young for a mid-life crisis, Shirley? ;P

I've been planning on getting some M5, but worked out the flange dimensions on the Mag 180 are better suited to my build. Still having looked at tune components on and off for some time. I've never seen them particulary cheap :(
    I ordered from here. http://www3.hibike.com/main.php?sessionID=C41700e192cd8fd288c63b4021b2abb28&method=m_product&productID=922aa27a572bac68af4dc95ee5b285b2#

Yes, but I'm also poor. So I've started amasing parts early :)

    (PS: Reported for grooming)

  • What a smart looking titanium bicycle you have there!

    How are you finding it?

^ have you heard about the new Sapim betterthanCXRay spokes? 17% lighter. Imagine the cost....

Planet-X were selling off pink anodised ones cheaply, don't know if they still are.

The UK importer is www.poshbikes.com and afaik, they only sell direct now. Lovely hubs, definitely worth the money.

I was looking into aero Ti Pillar spokes. But from what I read the loss of stiffness outways the weight saved. CX-ray all the way, unless these new ones are any good?

They have some very impressive stats, and reach their low weight without resorting to tiny bearings and thin flanges.

  • I've a pair on my uber bling carbon wheels. I had a pair before that lasted years and years without much in the way of attention. Most weight weenie kit is high maintenance but Tune hubs seem to buck that trend.

Thanks, it was spotting them on PX earlier that got my interest.

  • I'd forgotten what a horror that poshbikes website is. They've been working on updating it for at least 18 months, if not longer.

  • not compromising performance

    I just ride for fun
