I agree. I'm not saying they are right, just that it looks like they have taken the initiative to register on a fixie forum to sell an appropriate bike, and perhaps the fact that they are a charity and their intentions are obviously good means it isn't spam, but simply a misguided action. But yeah, who are we to decide

I concur.

• #18655
'gone'?
-
• #18656
I somehow created a double thread (selling some Campag wheels) and tagged velocio and hippy – now both are gone.
They can't just go and leave us like that!
-
• #18657
as in the threads have disappeared. i mean, i implied that one was a duplicate and could be deleted...
-
• #18658
I looked at the thread you said was a dupe, looked at your threads and couldn't see a duplicate, so did nothing. Maybe my 'just fucking delete everything' virus has broken free from social distanced living and is invading others...
-
• #18659
whuuuuuuuu.....
-
• #18660
Yes. I for one only ever saw one thread. Have you been to Specsavers recently
-
• #18661
in that case, what happened to the one thread? what's going on?
-
• #18662
Trumanshowesque conspiracy
-
• #18663
Gaslighting. Next it'll be "What? Golf club thread? Never heard of it."

I somehow created a double thread (selling some Campag wheels) and tagged @Velocio and @hippy in one of them – now both are gone.
Have i gone mad?
Yes :D
There were never 2 threads, there was only ever 1.
You tagged hippy and I, hippy verified and didn't delete... but I just trusted what you said and deleted it. Thus, I deleted the only one that did exist.
The thread you had created was https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/349950/ and was created 2020-06-25 21:09 (UTC) and there was no duplicate... but I deleted it as I was on my mobile and didn't verify first.
You've subsequently created https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/349957/ this morning 2020-06-26 08:09 (UTC)... and this one lives still.
The going mad bit is that you thought there was a duplicate when there wasn't, and I deleted based on your asking for it to be deleted.

there were definitely two threads showing on my following page.

• #18666
How many fingers am I holding up?
-
• #18667
-
• #18668
That does happen from time to time. I've been confused by it, too.
-
• #18669
A thread can show up twice if somebody AT's you, particularly if other people have carried on the thread since the AT.
-
• #18670
That's a point @fizzy.bleach how many drinks were you on at the time? And where you seeing two phones as well as two threads?
-
• #18671
it wasn't that, but i know what you mean.
anyway, is anybody gonna buy these wheels?
further posts in this thread will be construed as legally binding commitments
-
• #18672
Yes, but what I'm talking about is different--it happens only after you've just started a thread. It then disappears. VB once explained why it happens, but I've forgotten what the reason was.

Wait, is the Moderators thread a dupe of your sale thread?
-
• #18674
It happens if you follow a whole forum (e.g. classifieds) and there's a new thread which you also then follow

Ah... this.
The Following tab can duplicate things if you're being notified by several criteria at once.
And? There's a whole thread on the Classified rules and a clear link to them. TS&Cs clear on signup.

No exceptions for charities that I can read.
Not my call though. Bossman knows what he's doing.
