Isn’t black logo for London cyclists deaths and forumengers?
-
• #18628
Yes. Deaths of riders within the M25
-
• #18629
It is.
But a double fatality just beyond the M25 I'm OK making an exception for.

Isn't there an applicable algorithm? E.g. would 15 locals being run down by a tourist minibus driven by a blue rinsed golf club ladies captain in Ulan Batur count?

VB's brain is tuned into the lufgus alogrithm
What ever his instincts tell him that's the forum truth

Just a gentle reminder - you're talking about two people that just died. Perhaps a little more tact / sensitivity is in order.

My apologies, my empathy circuits had clearly shorted out. I could claim a long hard day, but I failed to consider those unfortunate people when making my normal fatuous comments. I wasn't talking about them, but should have thought more carefully, or at all.

No price originally mentioned.
Poster then suggested £500, now reduced to £450
On Ebay the same components are listed at £378 + £15 p&p -

Looks like Scott replied reasonably and coolly before I got to it.
I would've deleted, but think Scott has handled it well.

Mamnick again? Whoever it is they appear to have joined with the sole intention of trolling the BLM thread.

Where do we stand on people posting this sort of stuff?
People should be able to express opinions but not pass something off as fact in a scientific study thread imo.

I don't think it's the duty of the forum to prevent people from outing themselves as morons

I pretty much agree with mdcc_tester, it's not my job to police stupidity. Besides, that's everywhere and it would be exhausting (whilst also sometimes requiring me to police myself).
But in the case of those 2 comments both within the Covid-19 science thread, yeah... for a place where people are looking for fact, very flawed interpretations of papers are not helpful at all. I cannot edit the posts to correct this as that makes me a publisher, and so my choice is to leave them fully or replace them fully, and I've chosen the latter in this case. In most threads though... I wouldn't care less, but in the Covid science thread where people are looking for solid info... I care.

Seems fair. Plenty of places to discuss theories like the poster has, just not that thread.

Nor surprised, given her form on race.

Yeah, thought they'd be booted for the homophobic stuff tbh. I think a bit of name changing and post editing has helped the dodge

What is going on there? That's not a meme, is it?

Last time I advised them on where the line is and why it's an issue.
They arguably stayed within those... just, by not commenting themselves and letting linked content do the talking... but definitely they did not stay within the spirit of it and what was posted is still offensive and resulted in numerous people from across the spectrum all asking for action.
A very public final warning without ambiguity is now up, and I'm sure they realise the thin ice this puts them on... as now they have to moderate their content on the forum in the other direction just to avoid anyone reporting anything. I'm willing to give them a chance to do that, but if they fail to then they would've done so knowing fully the consequences.

This isn't the time for measured and considered actions or cool and calm leadership, we want blood.

It is a charity, who are trying to make money for good causes. A comment on the page might be more appropriate.
