i am often baffled by this thread
porn thread seems to be about well turned out svelte supermodels
so for me the functional thread is about slightly more sturdy birds, with the equivalent of childbearing hips, flaps for muck and a decent rack
so never sure why things like a straight up 29er like the above bike get posted here
maybe this is because i tend to think of functional referring to bikes that are utilitarian, not just for riding but also carrying a load or some other purpose

Should this just be called the bike thread?

Other than the Zanconato, I struggle to see whats not functional about the other bikes?

Check the flickr, there's no obvious logo (cannondale always made sure they were recognized) and besides, I can't see a nylon bag surviving for that length of time under UV conditions.
Thanks but no luck. I did find its sister bike though
Does anyone know of a similar shaped bag at all?

The 'safe' bike thread.

this is like quadraplegic porn, for those that like ones that can't run away, a very specialist niche for those of a slightly savile persuasion

I'd say that Carradice's smaller seat bags work pretty well as handlebar bags, though I'm not sure what exactly your criteria are. If you're looking for back bottle pockets, I haven't been able to find anything like that.

Is it the fence or the grass, or both? That does all the stopping and starting or has electronics 'blinded me by science' yet again?

Do you still have this bike?
Let me know if you ever want to sell it.
yes I do, but the top tube is 57cm, it might be a touch long (and expensive).

Could you not have front derailleur only? Least it can give you two ratios (if a bit of a big 16t jump!).
Ta for the travel agent tip, sounds like solution for if it needs gears again in future.
Could run Front mech, but that cable could still be fouled, and tbh not needed for pretty flat commute.
the crankset is 105 triple, so I could have 3 upfront but the chainline wouldn't be nice for 2 of them. I am shortly to be looking to swap it over for a single equivalent as it'd look better.
The only limit I'm finding is that 67" is a bit long a gear for going on the mud on the cx tyres, so I may well go 60 or less in the future and just spin like crazy on the roads...

67 is my normal unladen gearing, reckon at least between 60-65 would be fine.

As for bag, another nagging feeling could be this;

You could probably find something close to the size you want by frequenting militaria shops or trade or boot sales or whatever people call 'em out there.
A little DIY with a tough sewing machine or a stitcher like the one below would set you up even cheaper.

Very smart, really like the (Honjo?) black fenders on the red one.
