Anyone here using or used Ragley Luxy or similar drop bar? After opinions on them for my FBNPNA.
Fancy changing my front end about a bit to make life a bit more comfy on the trails I need to use to get about... My drops are a bit cumbersome, stock Ritcheys, took them off my first road bike and never got around to improving upon them.

Reader's Wives FBNPNA:
First proper ride yesterday from Bistol to Reading, even after 70 miles still really comfy and I was able to ride the last 20 to reading pretty fast (helped on by fading light and lack of dog walkers). A total mish-mash of parts but really pleased with how it's come out. Weighs a metric shit-ton but rides really smooth and still feels really fast on the flat. Properly pleased and excited about where I can go on this bike. French tour next summer defo.

My girl friend needs a basket for her bike (ahead with pod shifts and risers).
Does anyone have any cheap and cheerful* recommendations?
- doesn't actually have to be cheerful.
Anyone?
Was thinking about something like this:
But it's just trying to find one at the right price. I had a look at some of the quick release ones, but there are quite a few reviews out there saying there shit.

If you're going Wald, I'd say go smaller.
You could also get some Wald struts and bodge your own out of a plastic crate of your own colour choice, rostfrei! -

cheers:
^^ yeh, i was struggling to find any online tbh.
^ that looks cool, but fuck me is it hard to find a decent shot/display of how it actually attaches/works:
They look like fairly meaty clamps, but wasn't there some Sweadish handlebar/rack combo that got rinsed over the limit on loads it could carry? charlie's says there's some sort of stabilizing thing. I'd be curious to see what it's like.

Hmmm... the more I look at it the more I like it. Having a little bag with it as well seems neat - thinking about my GF's handbag been kept clean/dry in case she get caught in the rain.
The only thing is whether 'six-pack-size is going to be big enough for a girl's handback + jacket/top. Time to do some measuring I think.

EDIT: **about the size of a acer one netbook, and an iphone 4 tall...ie smallOh and this one made me smile:

That basket looks great.
I'm planning a build for a new fixed bike, it'll be used in winter mainly so I don't want to really mollycoddle it so mud guards would be fantastic - big tyres and possibly a rack.
My first choice was the fuji feather cx. But I can't see to find them for love nor money.

Right, just bought a rear rack for the Kona from PUSH. Any recommendations for affordable panniers?
Going to be commuting use only, with space needed for laptop, paperwork and waterproofs. -

Going to be commuting use only, with space needed for laptop, paperwork and waterproofs.CRC do some dirt cheap ones (like £15 a pair or summat) that are actually alright quality.
Nothing like as good as you'll get if you spend, say, £50 but not as bad as you'd expect a set of £15 panniers to be at all.

Yeah! We had them in not too long ago, though we're sold out at the moment (due to the staff buying them all). We're hoping to get them back in soon but the US distro is also out of stock

Killing it with the new bar bag on the Surly...
Am I going mad or is the stem raised a fair bit on the second shot. Different forks?

What the actual fuck?! How is apolloxol's quote of these pics different to mine?!

Apollo has been doing some photoshopping
Talking about the lower attachments; firstly, only using a fender mount hole and then using a secondary strut to get the height right. Would not support the weight that rack is meant to carry. Not in the long term anyway. Most serious front racks either have dedicated mounts integrated into the fork legs or are axle mounted.
