...Notable points in chronological order:..
3.Tom spinning by and me giving chase and hanging on for all of about 30 seconds. Just long enough for him to let me know that he was on the days 110th mile. I had done about 20 at best. Fair play....Miscounted, that was at 100 exactly, 110 by the time I got home. Pick up the Look tomorrow, must resist temptation to do any more.

I didn't see you out there Iain. In fact I only recognised 6pt. What is the etiquette for joining groups of cyclists that you don't know?
-
• #854
just get involved i think...
I was there but i was incognito ;-)

@110pt
A fine effort though. Hard to believe I've known you for a while and we've still only ridden together for that 30 seconds.

Join in, hang on. Don't get in the way. If you're fast enough to do a bit on the front, do so. If not, hang back. Signal intention when moving round people/moving off the front. Make cycling up the drag look effortless while everyone around you slowly falls apart. Don't let dickheads with tri bars draft you; they should be doing all the work on the front because whatever they're training for isn't draft legal.
That sort of thing.

^sounds like I am getting it right the, so no worries.
Just realised that was my first geared ride since mid-november.

Nice evening. Thanks for the company. Finished around 9pm as it was getting a little dodge on the traffic front. Needed a brighter front light i think!

Nick did his bit on the front. So he isn't :P You just gotta get to 8 laps, then I'll lay off. Need to get some food in now, bleh. I think your quick hit of pasta and look mum pretty much saved me from collapsing. not eaten enough today.
(porridge, nutella roll, banana, oat bar, half a plate of pasta) -

you were going strong for those 30 seconds!
My computer is still on the Condor. Deliberately 'forgot' to switch it between bikes. It claims I hit a max speed of 99km/h the other day, so it's definitely not broken or anything.

5.Being towed round for a final lap by another randomer. Way past my comfort zone so I couldn't take a turn at the front. When I thanked him for the tow he completely ignored me. Lighten up pal.
If it was me. Sorry i was plugged in listening to some crap on the headphones. If not then as you were.

peak push was 25, cruising at 23.5ish I think. not sure when you dropped off though, from my sideways glances over the shoulder I think I was confusing you and nick. -

My Garmin had me at 74mph during a century ride recently. Think I might put 80GI on and have a crack at 100mph soon.

That was fun. Needed to try and forcefully evict this lingering cold/bronchial thing before turning the pedals in anger on Saturday morning, as I've only done one night ride plus a day at the track over the past 3 weeks :(
Got held up by traffic when I first attempted to u-turn and join your bunch, so spent the first lap on my own bridging a 150m gap v----------e---------r--------y g-------r------a-----d----u---a--l-ly on my 73" gear and UprightWide&Aero™ position :D
6pt, you're a monster. Stop pissing around, and get yourself along to a TT. You'll be a sponsored rider in no time.
Bromptons fucking rock. And mudguards.
thinks about trying to source 16" disc wheel…

You need this up front. But they only do 17inch

I got a max of 30.8mph (drafting the SeriousRoadies on the fast bit, maybe?). The folder gets a bit twitchy when you take a hand off the bars to signal moving round a parked car at ~140rpm.

Is that 16"?!? (oh, just seen your edit)
I'm shitting my pants just thinking about how that would make the Brompton handle in a crosswind.

No! Its 17inch. I think this is the smallest they make. And its a clincher! But i sold it last month as i had no bike to put it on. Wish i hadn't as i might have soon.

those figures were just for that short blitz when I ran in to you :)
Boring stats time: fastest lap was the last at 7:05, just over 23mph average, max speed was 35mph, average for the hour was 22mph at a bottom-end TT-friendly 84rpm.Thinking of letting the Spinacis work their way onto the folder?
^MiniLoPro with 20" rear?
Do it.

Don't think so, but think nothing of it - and if it was you, thanks for the tow, was needed and appreciated.
I wasn't really counting, but I think I did 6 laps in about 50 minutes, which I was really pleased with!
Notable points in chronological order:
1.Joining the back of a pace line thinking it was you lot. It wasn't.
2.Being joined for half a lap on the back of the SeriousRoadies group by some nutter doing laps on a Brompton. Turned out to be BMMF of LFGSS fame. A pleasure to meet you.
3.Tom spinning by and me giving chase and hanging on for all of about 30 seconds. Just long enough for him to let me know that he was on the days 110th mile. I had done about 20 at best. Fair play.
4.Doing a few more laps with some randomer. Pink jersey... hi if you're on here!
5.Being towed round for a final lap by another randomer. Way past my comfort zone so I couldn't take a turn at the front. When I thanked him for the tow he completely ignored me. Lighten up pal.
All in all pretty good fun for my first time around Regent's, I'm glad I came by.
