I also get cadence, a little defunct riding fixed but I guess it will save me doing maths while riding
edit: thinking about this i never did maths while riding what am I saying

On 50x16, speed x 4 is pretty much cadence, on 50x19 it's just under speed x 5. Choose gears for easy maths, innit :P

my cadences are:
slow
fast

Cadence is for beginners. I stopped cadencing in like the 80s and shit or whatever.

Yeah i use one. Personally it doesn't really show me how hard i'm working as my legs give in before my "engine" does as it were. It sits at 50-odd resting and then 180ish when riding and thats about it. Must have a digital heart.
Comes from the sprinters background, last time i was tested (probably about 5 years ago now) by max heart rate was something daft so 180, and even 190 is comfortable for me.
I just ordered a new computer comes with heart rate monitor any one else use one?

Anyhow, i'm out this week as i'm getting sent offshore, whoopdy-do. Annoying as i was hoping to give the new bike an outing.

I'm keen but will probably excuse myself if it's very wet

Don't finish work until 8pm - out. I've done sweet f.a. riding this week. I hate the rain...
-
• #3267
Out again. If things continue as they are I may well end up being at the pub every Thursday night until the end of time.

In, rain or shine.

• #3269
I'll be riding round the park tomorrow, but probably not before 7.30. Say hi if you are still about.
-
• #3270
I'm out for this. Doing 'normal' stuff [non-cycling] instead; it's raining anyway so I guess I don't mind. See you out next week hopefully!

Meet at 1830hrs at the gate opposite York Bridge for a 1845 start.20mph+ average, but if you can't hold on there'll no doubt be other wheels to follow. Stop after 8 laps.
This is on public roads so please ride accordingly.
Running reds is frowned upon.
Signal your moves and stops.
You are responsible for your own wellbeing out there.
A heads up as to who is riding fixed and who is riding geared is also helpful, but this ride welcomes both.1.

Was hoping to do HoP geared a bit this year but due to the forecast I'll be fixed tomorrow - so either 66" or 74" - probs the latter! Reserve the right to wimp out if it's properly pissing down though.

My garmin has one. I use it, in that I wear it, but not in that I pay attention to it or understand it.
