Be up from 6.45ish.

Tom, isnt it time you started the usual HoP Lists with an apporpriately cool image like last year?!?! Or is it too early?
-
• #2780
Lists and cool things are being prepared. When the clocks change; then it begins proper.

• #2781
hoohar!

That said, I've only managed ideas for the first two weeks. Suggestions will be welcome once the theme becomes apparent.

I'm going to make an appearance this evening... true story. What's the deal these days with meeting point/time?
-
• #2786
You can all do what you want, but when things start 'properly', the meet point is at the gates opposite York Bridge in the inner circle, at whatever time is agreed upon.

although it's a little off-topic, i did some evening laps of Regent's Park outer circle the other night, didn't realise there's basically no street lights! however, the darkness and my forgetfulness of headphones made it bizarrely meditative (or something). was good to have company from the beardy bloke on a fixed fuji too.very enjoyable awy to de-stress after shitty work

Sumo: don't think I've met you before but interested to see your carbon wheels... fancy some lappage?

How can you not have met Henry?!
-
• #2790
No, have you?
And what do you mean "signed", i'll have you know it was a contract extension!
You've been signed by Rabobank as well?!

How can you not have met Henry?!
I thought his actual name was sumo facepalm

I'd love to start coming to these, do they always start at 5 though?
My new job finishes at half five, so realistically I'll never make it before 6.
-
• #2794
They used to start at half 6, because that gave those that finish at 6 (me) a manageable amount of time to get there. Eagerness for the session despite the lack of required daylight hours have forced it earlier, but the HoP won't start 'proper' (with lists and silly graphics) until the clocks give us an extra hour of daylight, enabling a session from half 6 to half 7 without the risk of a gloomy death at the hands of an inattentive car-commuter.

Bonza.
How many laps in one hour must one be able to do to avoid ignominy?
-
• #2796
personally i think everyone should start at least half an hour after you Tom to give us a chance to at least do 3/4s of the laps before beer o'clock with you later

I'm up to 8 now (22mph moving average anyway, traffic lights spoil the fun in the real world). Henry used to do four, stop wheezing and spluttering and say he'd done six and it was still fine. It's not a competition or a race, it's an hour of riding your bike. And an hour is a unit of time, not distance.
-
• #2798
I think you mean before, Iain. It used to take me 6 laps to lap the group, so you can work out an appropriate headstart from that if you must. If anyone's been riding their bikes over winter, though, this shouldn't be a problem.
-
• #2799
Ah good, was trying to remember what time they usually started. Should give me enough time to get home, drop my stuff off and head back across. Need to retrieve the road bike soon.
