Dodgy lyrics
Funny now I'm having a quick look I can't find anything that obvious. I was so sure there was loads of killing women. Obviously *mis*taken.
Still rarely as bad as hiphop. Still remember driving up Holloway road with a girlfriend and a Ghostface track came on from one of my playlists. Never really appreciated/noticed how bad the lyrics were until she pointed it out. After which every bar was crushingly awkward.

You may be thinking of Last Caress from Static Age/Danzig era. It's got the darkest lyrics by far but is also a great song, but I listen to Death Metal so it's water off a duck's back.
But yeah I remember listening to some Immortal Technique and was near the end of Dance With The Devil when I realised how graphic the lyrics and my gf wasn't exactly enjoying this nice background music.

Last Caress, Children in Heat, Helena, Devils Whorehouse are a 'bit dodgy' to start with. Then most of the rest, which are often as offensive as possible. Bullet may cross the line into deranged.

it's offensive, but it's not nearly as lyrically offensive as "another day in paradise" by yer phil collins ferinstance.

What's the big hoohaa about them though.

Go with someone and just stand at the back and treat it as if you're meeting a mate for a pint. That brought it back for me. If it's good you'll end up watching.
No having to queue during the music is also nice.

Now I really really don’t get Dilla at all. I can’t figure it out and I’m willing to accept it’s me as well everyone lauds him as a genius.

Did MF Doom used to be Dr Doom? My mate used to burn me CDs of his stuff, but he hyped him up so much it kinda put me off...
I didn't get Dilla either but I stopped paying close attention to hip-hop a loooooong time ago...

His catalogue, like the Neptunes, is huge.
But.
It can start to sound a bit similar if consumed at volume. -
