I don't listen to the Beasties anymore but they were very important at the time, I actually much prefer PE and Schoolly D but that's just me...
No one rocked a room more viciously than PE... Rebel Without A Pause on the tour they supported LL was the most incredible audience reaction I've ever seen at a show... I was afraid the balcony at the Hammersmith Odeon was gonna come down on top of us... But not that scared, we were having too good a time...

also seen run dmc twice and on the second time run did a no show
also one time i saw the furious five and kurtis blow in a little bar in manchester. they did the "we're comin, we're comin', we're comin'" intro and the sound guy bodged it somehow, so they just walked off and started again in good humour. nice guys and scorpio signed my ticket

I loved those 80s hip-hop shows, just a bunch of music lovers, no hype...

I wish this was in the 80s lol. My first gig was run dmc in 2000 or 2001 ish. But I've see de la, beasties, krs1, furious5, and a few others. PE was high on my list but I've always missed the chance

I did like Paul’s boutique and Ill communication. I bought license to ill when it came out, but all in all I can only thank them for leading me to Money Mark’s Keyboard repair

Not trimming brake or shifter cables. In the comments of this, the guys states that he got whatever cheap cable and just coiled it up. FFS. How hard is it to cut the cable and put an end on there.

I met her at a local flea market in September 2001. It wasn’t love – yet – but she was available. So I took her home.
Jesus Christ.

At first I was but actually I think it holds up. I grew up in the 90s so I have no nostalgia for any early hiphop.

You know Main Source, PE, Ultra Magnetic, PE, EPMD, LL, Tribe, De La, Ra, Biz etc were all out before Wu right? I mean you may as well just say you don’t like hip hop but just dabble here and there.

All of those old duffers! It’s actually quite insulting and naive to say it only started to get good after Protect Ya Neck. If you want to be subjective about it then saying you only enjoy the modern stuff is fair. But to dismiss it all as bad shows a clear lack of understanding of the genre.

Good shout, To the 5 boroughs is a great album. I caught them on the Hello Nasty tour at Wembley Arena and I’ve never seen anyone rock a venue that large. Place was jumping.
