Thanks both. Helpful.
I've also found that Kinesis have a complete wheelset that seems to get ok reviews at £275 a set, plus there are options from Chris King (pricey) and possibly Hope too. So I may have options yet.

Campag compatible disc hubs are like hen's teeth.
basically what Andy is saying is: don't bother.

What about Hope?
-
• #5180
Hope had issue with Campagnolo 11 speed compatibility.
They may have fixed this but it's a well documented issue over on WW. -

^this. Something to do with flanges or whatever.

D352SB (click here and scroll down a bit) is a Novatec, disc, Campag, 130 OLN hub.
Next one down is the D712SB which is 135mm OLN.
I've ordered from BDop a few times, nice and fast, seem like good people.

They do exist. But you either need to spend, DT Swiss for example, or try and get hold of a pair of the Novatec hubs (I tried and failed). Velocity do them too, but you have to order from the US.
If anyone is interested, I've a pair of DT Swiss 340 disc hubs laced to Mavic TN719 rims with a Campag freehub (I've the Shimano one too) that I'm going to sell soon.

I've just ordered a Middleburn ring instead.
Oh wow. The Middleburn ring has turned up and it's not flat, and doesn't fit. What a piece of crap. I expected more!

So I was pretty set on the Scott Foil 40, but a challenger has appeared; a BMC roadracer with 105... hmmmm...

BMCs are awesome.
That is all.

I love my BMC Pro Machine - but the Scott is much better reviewed than the Roadracer.

I'm slightly obsessed with the Orbea Avant with ui2 and hydrulic discs at the moment, need to get hold of one to test but my 5 year old ribble 7005 is probably due for an upgrade/thowing in the bin, especially as the only maintenence I've done is an occasional clean, its still got the same chain it came with...
-
• #5189
5 years and still got the same chain?
dude...

Doesn't miss a shift and I managed the last 15km of my ride yesterday at over 35kmh as Lance said, it's not about the bike....
I have replaced the bar tape and hoods as I wore through them...
Oh and the tires (a few times)
And a spoke when one snapped. But that's it.

• #5191
I dare you check the chain.

Brother is looking into getting a new road bike.
How shit is Sora? (I said it would probably be ok but suffer poor durability - especially as it's to be a training bike)These are the two he's looking at:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/v...3/rp-prod85584Any other ideas? Is the RS501 wheelset reasonable?

I'd be looking at a second hand bike.
You could easily pick up a bike in the next bracket up, that hasn't seen much use, for that sort of price.
Allez elite for examle.

Any recommendations on spending £2,000 on a new roadbike? I'd go for a Canyon Ultimate AL, but can't wait 7-8 weeks for the bike to arrive. Specialized bikes are out of the game due to poor fit; Giant and Cannondale fit me spot on.
2nd hand market for 59cm TT bikes seems non existent at the moment
