Dude you're buying a frame for your girlfriend, just show her a couple of bike and let her decided.

Erm, isn't this the road bike thread?

I have a plan to replace my Bob Jackson with something that doesnt fold in two each time I step out of the saddle. I'm not bothered about frame weight. I just want a brutally stiff alu frame and carbon forks.
I have TT bars on my fixed. So I'd like something I could set up for a MAMILs TT position

Too subtle - needs more branding. Also, needs double spoks.

forks arent drilled on that one ^
otherwise great bike and will suit your purpose i.e. fixed tt with front brake?Bum.
Definitly want a front brake.
Quiet like the idea of a fixed TT bat bike. Based on a PX carbon, or Alien etc.

They have them on the site, as a PDF download. Bit of an arse
Just get your missus a kinesis or something? They are plenty light, loads of clearance and mudguard mounts. Or a genesis equilibrium.
That sentence made me phonologically process Genesis as /jen-EE-sis/.
Fuck you, Mr. Confusing Juxtaposition Man.

I'll need to crash/sell the BJ to make it happen. But the bat bike would have a deep ass rear, and a shallowish (40mm or so) front. I'm not the miost skilled using tt bars in the wind.
Frame. Alien V3.

Sentence is a kind description for that spare words convention. My brain is not exactly firing on all cylinders today.

I suggested Canyon Roadlite AL 6.0 to a colleague of mine who is in market for sub £900 road bike. He liked it and was keen to order just before canyon sent him and email saying that they are out of stock and he will have to wait till October (it's the age old canyon story i know). So suggest a sub £900 bike that represents similar value (105 and decent wheels like the canyon). He test rode couple of road bikes in Evans in different sizes out of which he found CAAD 8 in size 56 to be perfect fit which seems similar to the geo of Roadlite AL.
The first brand/bike comes in mind is Planet X who are doing Pro Carbon model with Rival for £999 any more options?

^ very few sizes are available, I think it's one of their best selling bikes. They said they are going to receive new stock by October.
Another contender: http://www.focus-bikes.com/int/en/bikes/bikes-2013/category/road-1/subcategory/road/model/culebro-sl-30-20-g.html £899 at Kinoko

Also saw this in Kinoko:

I think its good value at £2900 retail with Rotor 3D+ crankset and DA 9000 on a full carbon frame and forks and decent finishing kit/wheels too.

The Giant I linked, comes with a seriously stiff front end, and ultegra. I've ridden a alu TCR, and they feel very planted, and responsive. The sort of bike that wants to be ridden fast. I know that sounds very bike-radar. The Giant finishing kit is actually pretty nice for the price point too.

+1 for the frame and +1 for Ultegra. Neither are light but both would be my 1st choice.
I remember thinking the TCR really 'works' when drilling it. I mean they're really stable and safe but ride is very smooth at speed.

does it climb like a mountain goat?
Corners like it's on rails?

Vertical blergh, lateral blergh

Its a fucking stiff, sure footed, little bastard.

That one's not accurate though is it? Mountain goats live ON a mountain and eat whatever's close. It's those shepherds that get the metres-ascended in. And possibly their dogs?

Fun bikes the TCRs.

internal h/set bearings should just push in with minimal preasure?
Having a fucking nightmare.
Going to stick to MTBing.

Usually, are you sure it's the right headset for the frame?
^ i agree, but then which light and less painfully removable guards?
Not too pricey.
