Back on the keeping an eye on my weight. Ate way too much over Christmas. Combined with my freaking knee (yes still giving me problems) means I've put a bit on.
I haven't really used the gym much either recently. Starting to think about leaving it and running again (which I can't do due to the knee).

5:2 restriction day today.
2 macchiatos so far. Probably chewing on biltong for lunch.
Soup for evening meal and a few satsumas as mid afternoon sustenance.
Have lost approx 7 pounds this year. Ideally have at least another stone to go. This will also relieve some of the stress on my compressed spinal discs so there is a more serious motivation to my weight loss than simple vanity.
Feeling a little sorry for the other half who has been doing 5:2 for a while. She had assumed her large milky cups of tea were not very calorific. After I started using myfitnesspal she has been looking in more detail at the calories she consumes on her restricted days. She was quite miserable yesterday trying to stay under the suggested 500.

Weight loss is now just over 6kg, and under 100kg again!

As of this morning, I've lost 7Kg since the 5th of Jan. This is purely from restricting calories to ~1,500 (not too strict) most days of the week, 600 calories two days a week and free reign every time i go to the football. Over the last week, i've increased my gym activity from once a week (at best) to three times a week. This has caused an initial weight gain (marginal) but is already showing results in terms of "leanness".
The above puts me at 51% of goal to get to 75Kg for end of May and suggests I may meet that goal by mid April.

Up to 159lbs after a few weeks of excessive eating out and having very unhealthy lunches out during work.
seriously need to get some more exercise than my commute.

Conservation of Momentum - when two skinny yoofs on a scooter try to push me off my SS as I'm crawling up College Road but they don't take into account my winter weight and nearly come a cropper. Maybe I won't lose the pounds, for safety reasons.

Yes, no cakes or biscuits. Sort it out.

I cant see the 5:2 diet working for someone who is properly active
100%, I have a physical job and train 5+ times a week. There's no way I could manage 500kcal days.

Started a diet 2 weeks ago tomorrow after reading this thread. So thanks for that folks! Been using MFP and Strava to track stuff. Bought myself a turbo trainer and been doing 30 minute sessions most nights as well as commuting etc, trying to get out on bike rides whenever i can.
Not been strict with my diet but i've been trying to eat more green and much less crisps etc. Not really a fan of sweets or chocolate so that isn't a problem. I think that my current issue is portion size, does anyone have any sort of suggestions for this? I tend to buy food day to day and not really prepare in advance.
Regardless lost 3kg in the last 2 weeks

^Eating slowly lets your stomach tell your brain when you're done and its is not a crime to leave food on your plate either. Getting enough protein in helps kill hunger pangs/appetite too.

Use smaller plates. Eat slower and stop when full, not when plate is empty.
Note: I follow neither of these suggestions. #hippyisfat

Never finish a portion of food - aim to always leave 25% of food
Serve in the kitchen and not at the table
Eat with your top off

Thanks, i will give this a shot!
@hippy Never thought about using a smaller plate, good recommendation, will try that tonight.
@Tenderloin Also a great suggestion thanks!
Also thought i should mention i don't eat 3 meals a day, student life means i eat twice if i have enough money. Been trying to buy more apples and fruits to have at lunch however, but i don't have any appetite until about 1/2PM.

People are starving in (insert London borough here)
75.4 kg post ride, 76.5 kg this morning. Race weight is approaching. Also think this is the lowest i've been in my adult life.
