Yeah, like it a lot. S&P, garlic, nutmeg = WIN!
Just a shame you have to use about 3 bags to get a meal out of it
fuck that.... on it's own straight out the bag. cous cous and cherry toms on the side.

blatant pimping going on here, but 'er indoors is willing to teach a class if people are interested and she can find a suitable teaching space... -

Are they just a session of co-ordinated stretches or is there more to it?

I'm really bad at stretching and as a result have about nil flexibility. Would be interested in learning/actually doing it.
-
• #659
probably a series of stretches over the course of an hour or so.

Hands flat on the floor here- I'm a stretch pro.
My mum, who runs everyday and goes to the gym 3 times a week, never ever stretches. It's crazy

+1. I'm a skinny get but I occasionally have some real competition in the fast lane from bigger guys. Underneath the fat some of them are very fit.
Dude, when was the last time you went to a public swimming pool. I can guarantee you'll find all types there. All types. And who gives a fuck what other people think anyway?
Swimming is great for joints, general fitness improvement (as it works everything, basically) and if you don't have much body fat it's a good way to look more toned (I'm lucky enough to get this effect, as I have what you call a 'borderline calorific intake').
BUT if you're looking to lose weight be careful with swimming. There's a lot of research which says it doesn't aid in losing weight, and a some which says swimmers put on weight. This was especially true for people swimming in colder water as it stimulated their appetites more. The research seems to suggest that swimming makes you hungry (and I can vouch for this, definitely) and you risk eating more calories than you have expanded.
I'd second swimming if you have a bad knee. Its lovely on the knees. And you get to have a sauna.
Speaking of which, dooks, you recommended a swimmer near old street yonks ago. I never followed it up at the time. What was it called again?Ironmonger Row swimming baths. It is a great place for a dip. The Turkish Baths are closed atm for a refurb but the pool is lovely.
Isn't Ironmonger totally closed for the refurb? I've been avoiding it for ages because I thought they were doing the whole thing.

no, there isn't any real sciency truth
after dinner your body has to wait all the way till breakfast for more fuel
this is also why breakfast is really important
I got told off by my doctor for this kind of behaviour (although my issue is less excess weight and more eating enough to stay alive tbh)
little and often is what she advises
Makes sense doesn't it?
You've got all day to burn breakfast off and not long before bed to burn dinner off. I should follow this rule more.
Does anyone know if there's real, sciency truth to this btw? I know that I feel better when I eat like this but don't recall reading any proper research on it.

Sorry Fox, my mistake, you're right, the whole place is closed. I thought it was the baths as I wanted to go for a steam and sauna the other week and saw that they were closed, I didn't read carefully enough...

burn the scales. trust the trousers.
i have made my feelings clear about the evil that is scales, and i generally give them a wide berth.
nonetheless i decided to jump on my old school set of analogue scales this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find that i have lost well over a stone in the last 4 - 5 weeks!

1 stone = 6.35029318 kilograms
Jeez - that's quite a lot. Nice work. Hope you're feeling better for it.

• #674
Grr. I've been trying to loose a stone for the last 2 months!
Good work though! -
• #675
it is easier when you have LOTS to lose, like me
but thanks anyway
Had a pea, green bean and spinach risotto the other day, bloody lovely, and healthy as long as you don't use butter to prep the rice.
