so, alcohol and ketosis ... really bad idea. omg I feel terrible this morning!
-

80.1 last night, full clothed after a run, pretty sure I'll be well under 80kg come Monday.
Had a dinner last night of a huge bag of salad, cooked quorn fillet, a tin of pilchards and some peppers.
Monster dinner and bugger all calories.

71.5 this morning despite eating a whole bag of giant milkybar buttons, oh well cycled the 26 miles into work this morning and riding home so I suppose I might just get away with it!
Jam and almond butter sandwichs are so much nicer than energy bars!

i am currently 202 pounds. Not the unit of measurement I normally use but i feel getting under 200 pounds is a good milestone. Running 6 days a week plus commuting by bike and swimming twice a week. Also eating much moe carefully and not drinking during the week. This has to work right?
-
• #6282
2lbs should easily be lost by being de-hydrated or by eating healthily for a week.
-
• #6283
well i dont want to lose it by dehydrating. I was going for a pound a week. My problem is currently that the lions starts at 11am which leads to all day/night drinking.
-
• #6284
Ha! The Lions match is a test for any man...
I more meant that 2lbs isn's a massive target (just under 1Kg) and as a % of your overall weight, it could be lost just through dehydration. Obviously, healthy eating / exercise is better!
You could easily expect to lose 1Kg a week by cutting out booze and eating well but adding the exercise you've laid out, you'll lose much more.

Bagged salad and Quorn?
That's an expensive diet! -
• #6286
Quorn is cheap. Cheaper than chicken breast.
and the bagged salad was 97p with enough for 4 servings.

Wait... Almond butter Ed? Sounds lovely.
-
• #6288
Yep, like peanut butter but made with almonds.
Its gooooooooooooooooooood.

Does the alcohol not stop the ketosis?

It definitely does. But 4th July/Friend died. So start again...
Didn't destroy my weight too badly, at 80.9kg / 19.7%(ish) body fat
-
• #6294
I like my scales, they tell me my body fat is 11%.
This may well be bollocks, but it's a nice lie to start the day with.
-
• #6295
haha yah I don't believe mine either. I really think I'm more like 23% but hey, as long as it tracks down I'm fine
-
• #6296
My scales tell me I'm 38% which is clearly bullshit
-
• #6297
I found I could get away with drinking while on keto. However the hangovers and choice of drinks made it not really worth it.
-
• #6298
well I went for beer which is sooo not keto. I knew it was going to be a longish session, and whisky would have really killed me.
I did regret it a huge amount yesterday morning.

@ Ed- I've been thinking about how much you're training/ racing, and all things considered- and using my recent experience as a template- I don't think you need be concerned about what you're eating. In fact I reckon you'd improve with a higher carb intake...
Personally, I'm enjoying the last 3 days off before work and training kick in again.
30 miles of commuting should help with things... Planning on 3 short evening 10k runs, then 1 longish weekend runs, 2 x circuit sessions, and the occasional swim/ weights session.
This will change, as it always does, and when I join the Tri/Athletics Club. -

hmm so I spent the day on a raft, in the water drinking vodka. no carbs, so that's ok right?
Plank thing???
