Yoga is great shout.
Planks side planks, lunges, reverse lunges, leg press, leg curl, leg raises, medicine ball work. You have lots of options.

depends on the squat. I found that planks, crunches etc buld the core directly, but to get a carryover to whole body movements, particularly to improve hip stablility at the same time, it was good to be doing something with my legs as well - particularly if I was loading asymetrically - with just one dumbell or something.

Squat is one of my least favourite exercises, I have to force myself to do it.

While seated draw your knees to your chest or grab two chairs cushion under each elbow and L-sit like a boss.

L-sits , what a brilliant suggestion !!! As I have been working towards one legged squats.

I think it was you who recommended the convict conditiong book to me. That led me to Al Kavadlo ebook which I now have. Skip the words, they all say the same thing.

Oh WOW Al Kavadlo ebook is that any good !!! Although I won't be doing any pull ups for a while. Go easy. I was showing off & thats how I tore my tendon. Fortunately I can still box. Not such a bad thing. I don't really need trophy muscles but I absolutely do need a strong core and a strong neck! Have also been attempting back bridges. I don't bend backwards. Hence the yoga :) Good luck with it. I'll be really interested in how you get on. buddha

76.7kg this morning managed to dodge the beers this weekend so hopefully should be on a roll now rather than spending the week correcting the errors of the weekend.
Biggest challenge is avoiding the beers untill the end of november now so that I'm ready for the official start to marathon training in december. Looking at my training plan I should easily hit sub 70 by christmas. Watch this space.
Have ordered a small vest from the charity I'm running for so I better get on it or I'll look ridiculous.

77.5 this morning- you've inched ahead.
I averaged 76.9 last week, so clearly going to Aarons wedding has made me fat.
Running this week, so we'll see if that cuts down on the tub.

Oh Hai Guyz.
You should all check out this thing called the NOROVIRUS.
Its fucking sweeeet at losing weight!
Get on tube, lick a few handrails, escalator, tube carriage and BINGO. Its also very important never to wash your hands.
There are a few minor side effects, but all that pales into insignificance when you feel so good about yourself cos can fit into that size 8 LBD.

Me too, I am not going anywhere near scales this week. Off to Hawksmoor tonight. although I suppose I am technically on honeymoon. So much food has been consumed in the last 10 days.

My office chair has been creaking ominously today.

I've lost at least half a stone in the last week (according to a wii) could it all be water loss?

I've been on a downward trend for a while, and gaining some muscle too, as I've started running. But this morning's weekly weigh-in was way down, not sure what that was about. Probably not going to change anything and just see where this trend bottoms out. I don't drink, or eat anything too fatty - but, like most of London, I pretty much exist on sandwiches and Pret salads mid-week.

68.1kgs this morning pre run. (66.9 after- wanted to see how much swear I would lose).
Going well for the target at the moment. Need a couple more gym sessions for core strength added into the week... -

Gym tonight, then a 30 minute run on Friday and an hours run on Sunday.
If I can avoid stuffing my face it might be close.
Forearm tendon where it connects to the inner elbow hurts if I do ANY pressups or pullups. Its a blasted pain as its already been three months without any real improvement. I tore it doing pull ups from a tree branch.
Squats build core ? because I already do shit loads of squats & lunges !!! Leg raises ? don't you have to hang from your arms? tendon won't have that !!! Can't carry heavy loads due to a broken vertebrae in my neck (broken neck) so farmers walk is out. I just tried squats with a 3kg weight which was fine so will do that. I presume that planks, supeman's and endless crunches is also the way to go? Whilst the tendon heals I am thinking of taking up YOGA to gain flexibility. One of the things about being nearly fifty is that injuries seem to take forever to heal. I do envy young'uns sometimes. buddha
