My opinion* on the cycle commute is that once your body is used to the effort, you expend very minimal calorie burn.
So I'd always under state my calorific expenditure of your commute to work.
Training is a different matter.

I can't rule out dehydration but I had a glass of water before weighing in, and I drink 3-4 liters of water throughout the day.
Just been given a box of nakd bars, which fit my whole foods plan really nicely as well as adding a huge amount of convenience to life as each one is 160 ish calories so will work pretty well as snacks and boosters to meals to get me to my calorie coiunt without eating loads of processed food.
I now see why vegans are generally quite skinny!
nakd bars = best things ever.
I have the 100 cal versions, as emergency lecture food.

Hope so, I just went back and got 5 boxes for £10 so now have over 100 of them under my desk!

The grad in my team got given a load for a charity thing he's doing so made a donation for the leftovers...
Had already donated a fair bit to ensure I got some extras at the end so not quite the unit rate I paid!
If I had any more cash on me I'd offer to buy you a box...

ahh, shame.
I'm going to have to track some down wholesale.
otherwise they're too expensive. -

Surprisingly today I've only had porridge so far and I'm still full. Had porridge at 645 this morning, then a coffee once I was settled at work (830) since then I've had green tea and 2 pints of water. I'm still full but starting to get hungry now.
Looks like if I can carry on like this I'll be OK without the 10am protein shake, but may alternate days between the coffee and the protein shake.

These seems quite sugar heavy (admittedly fructose, but still), do they not just make you spike and crash, particularly if you're already running on empty?
-
• #3311
No not at all.
They work perfectly for what I need them for, which is when I'm stuck in a 5hr straight set of lectures, and need a snack.
Like a pick me up. -

Naked bars are the nastiest thing I've ever tasted. I have two boxes of them in my drawer :-)
I prefer those 95kcal Slim Fast chocolate caramel chevy thingies. -

I prefer green tea.

Other than tasting like vegetable stock what is the point of green tea?
(Mostly) serious question
Now worried about how many nakd bars I have under my desk, but the ginger one I had earlier was ok, and saves having bags of nuts, fruit, veg and pots of yoghurt everywhere!
Have a pint of guiness in my diary for today but worried it'll give me a taste and I'll just wan moar!

Mostly because it stops me drinking tea and coffee with milk, also it has good detox properties.
I'm now down to 1 coffee a day (most probably in the morning)
Also today has been really good, I'm well below my target and have 740 calories left for the evening meal. Turbo session tonight which means I can probably have a desert too (exciting times!)
I'm surprised how much difference that coffee made to my appetite this morning, it meant I could actually eat my lunch around lunch time and this afternoon I've been drinking plenty of water and a couple of green teas, no snacks!

I'm finding that if I have a small cappa or flat white as my mid-morning snack that sees me through to lunch. It seems to work even if I'm very hungry. I does require a bit of discipline to stay away from sweet treats at the same time but it is self-perpetuating i.e. I haven't snacked all week, I'm not going to ruin it now.
Down to 83 kg now. If I got to 82 I'd be under 13 stone which is a huge milestone for me as I was 18.5 stone when I left university
You'd be better adding a small handful of nuts to that mid morning/afternoon snack, or a slice of wholemeal toast with peanut butter. Some fat in there, but it'll boost your metabolism.

This frozen river cobbler with chilli sauce plus a cup of basmati rice and frozen steamed garden veg will bring you to about 400 kcal. Have an apple on top and five dates.

Did plan on turbo session tonight but new wheels won't clamp, fuck sake! I'm well under my calories for the day though, even had a slice of cake for pudding.
Keep the good work up Sparkes, this forum helps no end mate.

I'm shocked by the ammount of Tesco pre-packaged food and snack bars people on here are consuming, think I've only stooped to one of those meals once in my entire life, and it wasn't taste sensation. I'm cooking for one this week so some serious healthy eating can be undertaken. Kangaroo mince chilli con-carne with heaps of beans served with brown rice and LOTS of bhut jolokia chillis for me.
Kangaroo is pure meat eating dietry win, mince is only 1.8% fat, tastes great, is cheap, and well its skippy, who wouldn't want to eat that smug little bugger? -

How frozen fish is pre-packaged? Do you want me to find a pond?
