Weight / Fat loss

  • I had a lot of flatbread, and I reckon scrambled egg on toast the way I make it is about 700 calories!

It is on the low side, but I find once I start eating I can't stop so better to be quite strict with myself, and drink lots of fizzy water!

Meant to buy some fresh veg earlier but the supermarket was so rammed I couldn't wait to get out of there!

  • Still not losing or gaining but still not going to the gym thanks to continuing, annoying, shoulder problem. Have found a very gay looking but allegedly very effective exercise to try and help/sort shoulder problem. Done it twice today (first day) should start to notice a difference after a few days if it is going to help and am hoping I may have found a solution without having to shell-out for professional advice (like a physio) that I currently can't really afford. This is the routine:

  • What's hardest for me is the sad fact that I have to cook for other - ever hungry teenagers being the worst.

I have my own diet now, but when I buy some light snacks, humous, bean burgers, tofu and shit, my stepdaughter will wake up at 2AM and eat all :-) She wants to get arse like Beyonce apparently.

Wanna be my rotator cuff exercise partner?

  • ^ just tried them with 1kg weights but too painful to do a full movement, even 1 rep, on the left shoulder (the one that's been playing up) right shoulder is as good as gold.

  • I've just done some stretches with 3 kg dumbbells my physio gave me some time ago. I'll try the sank action from your link tomorrow.

  • 70kg dead, giving me .1 to go to target weight and 15 kg total weight loss since 6th October.

I'm not going to be as thin as I'd like at this weight but I'm going to try to consolidate for a few weeks at least anyway, and possibly up the weights to try and convert fat to muscle.

Bought a tape measure as its the best way I can think of to track progress with this goal in mind....

Interestingly my scales say I'm still a little overweight! (motherfuckers)

  • I will never lose any more body fat if I keep buying pork scratchings, I have just worked this out.

  • That's not strictly true, if you balance them out with other healthy eating and exercise you will ;)

  • Back down to 80.1 this week, could be dehydration from yesterdays ride although I feel fine. Should in theory break the 80kg barrier next weigh in which is a great mental milestone. 5 more kg and ill be around my target weight, which for my height is ideal.

  • Slight blip on my slow but steady loss (I can't be losing kgs at a time like you guys or I'd disappear) but that's probably because I went to Bodeans and then out drinking on friday. Not too bothered, it was worth it!

  • As a paid up (erk!) member of Dolescum.cc I shall now have allmost all the free time in the world to run/gym/cycle.

    So it bloody snows.

  • find a park, go running in trail shoes, or mountain biking!

gym is indoors whatever the weather!

  • Have to get there though.

I am, I admit, being silly.

  • also it'll prob melt by tomorrow!

so unless you get really lucky in the job market then you could just treat today as a rest day!

    Of which saturates 1.4g
    Sodium 0.145g
    Green tea 21mg
    CLA 1.5g

Which one of these do I want? I'm doing a fairly decent job of eating a sensible calorie deficit diet and weight is coming off at around 1-1.5lbs per week, but now that I'm doing a run, swim or turbo every other night in addition to commuting and weekend road rides I'm getting fcuking ravenous by mid-morning at work and late in the evenings. Which of the above is my best bet for bridging between meals without compromising weight loss?

Maxitone Definity for hunger pangs and to support weight loss.

If you're riding / running in the evening add a banana as fuel for your workout.

Joel - you can still do leg, core and pull exercises so this should not stop you in the gym.

I have a similar niggling problem and I'm doing the same exercises (bodysuit optional), I'm not doing any push exercises such as bench-press or overhead/shoulder press, until stability is 100%.

have you got your skis out?
    Well done on the weight!
I'm going to focus this week and try and catch up.
I wish it snowed all the time, I went for a 5k skate to get to a hill, and sessioned it for an hour or so...
Feel like it was the best exercise I've done all year.

    Cool, ordered.

  • Just monitor how you get on with it in the evenings and make sure you are taking some carbs on for your workouts.

hadn't even thought of getting them out, mainly because the common is flat!

you're still ahead in the weekly weight competition, we'll see in a couple of days if the weight is just dehydration or is in fact 'real weight loss'!

i suspect the fact that your core was doing overtime for stability contributes to the feeling of being pleasantly knackered!

  • I went for a 10k run just now, because I wanted to hear the crunch of snow. Then to the gym. Then a very ginger walk home!
The injiji socks as mentioned in the running thread are actually incredible.

  • 92.6kg

  • Can't believe I was over 95kg only a week and a half ago.
