3 pints of guiness with NurseHolliday and the pissing rain made me miss my run to work this morning. Also had battered sausage and chips on way home from pub. Not happy with myself. Grr.
Interestingly after a couple of weeks of no potato I realised they're kinda gross and fairly pointless.
Double circuits tonight and will aim to do an additonal couple of miles running tomorrow/sat morning in an attempt to make up for it.
30" waist jeans arrived and still require a belt. Win. -

As far as rice, potatoes and pasta go. Potatoes are the best, they have vitamins where as rice and pasta don't. Saying that it doesn't really apply to chips ;)

Haven't eaten pasta or rice in 2 weeks either.
Moar and moar veg ftw.
Also, project Sheen begins tomorrow as the Thermobol arrived. -

top work sir, i'm loving running now too. trying to up my average speed at the mo
-
• #2807
not entirely sure "loving" is how I'd put it although I can definitely tell it's doing me more good than my 3 mile each way commute on the bike.

72.5 this morning....
It's not going to put me at the top of the leader board but I'm pretty happy with my progress, will see what the weekend brings, but long run will probably throw things off kilter for a couple of days.

72.9 this morning.
Not far off you ed, but I suspect you'll rocket away with that 22miler!
Anyways, I feel a bit happier today than yesterday. -

can you thin people stop making me feel bad. all this trying to lose a kilo fat and gain 2 kilos muscle bollocks. nah i guess you are alright but im just jealous
Actually, genuinely sorry. I did hesitate before posting. As, while it fits within the title of the thread, I'm not sure it fits within the vibe of the thread. The thing is, when you're my height, that it doesnt take much of a lapse from a decent balance of diet andf exercise before you explode sideways. So I use the tips on here to add weight carefully. That 1Kg added has taken me several months preparation. So I got a bit excited.
FTR I'm very impressed with the amount of dedication of people on here, most recently Edmundo.
(That^ sounds really patronising. Really isnt meant to be)
I've been in this place for years!
Thankfully my huge amount of running and no leg weights rule has meant I can fit into pretty much all normal trousers these days, slim fit is still a no no though on both a quad and calf basis. Maybe after another 12kg....
I'm pretty careful with my legs, and also dont do any weights with them. But I stll cant run without undershorts/tights. The thigh rub is so bad I've, on more than one occasion, come home with my socks saturated in blood.

I wont be posting my weight post run in any seriousness more for amusement.
I lost about 2kg over 19 miles so i might sneek under the 70kg boundary but its such a dehydrated weight it goes back on as soon as i drink anything.
Going to keep doing my weight on a friday for now as its the most realistic weight i'll get all week as i havent run for c24 hours and should be within normal hydration levels..

Nah you are alright really. It is still in the spirit of the thread. I would just like some tails of woe from some of the larger people. I had a variable week.
Minor victory: Not eating FREE PIZZA and FREE BEER at work thing. Reading that sentence back I cant quite comprehend how that was a victory and not total insanity.
Minor defeat: Eating a bag of crisps before football. though i dont feel that bad about this.

Id say that was a massive victory rather than minor.
I managed to go to the pub and drink soda water last night, its hard on two counts, one is the gentle teasing from my team and secondly i dont think i enjoy many thing morw than a post work pint...
Wouldnt be able to turn down pizza though...

Very nearly ordered my favourite greasy pizza after my run last night but went for beans on toast. Off to gloucester for the weekend with rugby mates but going to try and sneak in a morning run tomorrow to make up for the excess!

QUOTE]Well I have only managed one lunchtime gym session this week as I left writing a essay too late, the essay was shit and i haven't lost any weight this week. This weekend I am off diving on sunday and have put on a stone since I last wore my wet suit, so getting into it is going to be undignified to say the least!
Until if find a place to live back up in london I am stuck with a train commutte of an hour and a half so lunch time is the only realistic exercsie i get.
How's that?

Looking and feeling trim in 2012 even though I'm not totally strict about dieting, I think the main secret is low carbs; basically cut out bread, potatoes, pasta and rice from my diet. Not even a problem, veg stir-flys, grilled meat, greens, home made soups, I can devise a workable weekly regime of good food that doesn't fall back on your classic carbs.

I find I end up snacking too much if I don't have carbs in my evening meals.

Well hopped on the scales for the first time since before Christmas and have been pleasantly surprised to find I'm the same weight again. Have been intentionally avoiding scales and credit card statements because I know things got a little out of hand over the silly season. A few weeks of hard work and healthy eating seems to have sorted things out though. Aim for the next 6 weeks is to drop 6kg down to 105. Problem is I'm in heavy weight training cycle for rugby, with four sessions a week at the gym, while trying to train up or my first solo single speed 8ht Mtb race at the end of feb. Two rather contradictory aims, AM rides 5 days a week plus gym 4 afternoons, I'll either get really fit or implode, only 1 way to find out.

Just to be pedantic, veggies and greens are still sugar, they just tend to be simple carbs (mono- and disaccharides) rather than the complex carbs (oligosaccharides) found in starchy bread/potatoes/pasta. Your point still stands though, starchy carbs are best minimised if you're trying to shift weight.

Haha. Sounds familiar.
I tend to be doing distance running, as well as the cycling, together with my front row forwarding. Really need to get back into the loose forwards. -

Probably going to have something unhealthy for dinner tonight, there I've said it. I've had a shit week really, not only with regards to eating but in general.
To top it all off my cars gone this morning, I haven't built my new bike up which I'll have to do tonight if I want to go anywhere, even though I wanted some time off the bike to help my knees out.
