Hmmm promax diet with half milk....
I use them every morning as breakfast, given that I run to work 3 mornings a week and hit the gym on the other two I'm not worried, I then use it for lunch on the weekend as recovery from a long run with a banana in it too, I then have a sandwich and rice cakes for lunch and a normal dinner.
This equates to about 15-1600 calories a day, which has resulted in about 10kg of weight loss since the beginning of october including the week either side of xmas drinking about 3 pints, little exercise and not watching what I was eating.

Ah, you mean of the protein stuff. So GTE contributes bugger all.
Still yeah, lots of caffeine in total. No wonder you lose weight.. dehydrated and crapping all the time! :) -

196.25lbs Monday
193.5lbs Todayamazing what not gorging on chocolate and cheese and actually riding your bike can do in 2 days.

Haven't weighed myself yet for mid week. I already feel better for the amount of cycling I've been doing this week, probably more in my head than anything.

Cut 300 cals a day from my diet! How you ask? Well I'll tell you in the next sentence, meet you there.
Canderel in my coffee/tea. I've a sweet tooth and drink 5/6 cups a day, each with two teaspoons of sugar. Replace with two Canderel; 300 cal down to almost 0, with no taste difference.

Tried to weigh myself at my parents but the scales didn't work. Anything less than 14st would be a pleasant surprise (bearing in mind I'm 6'1" of pure muscle).
-
• #2261
cut out the canderel as well and you'll be able to say "no thanks, I'm sweet enough chortle" when asked if you take sugar.

hahahaha unfortunately I'm a bitter, hateful arse so I don't think that'd wash, although I suppose there's some irony value there.

Wow Hatbeard you're almost 13 and a half! That is amazing, I can't remember what you had got to when I met you but was considerably more... in as un-rapey way as possible, got any recent photos?

• #2264
Yeah, pics please (in a homo/rapey way)

I was 13 and a half for a couple weeks before xmas. then less riding and more drinking bumped me back up.
I got up to 14st 8lb over the course of last year after succumbing to a somewhat lax diet. was certainly a lot more paunchy on my birthday in June than I am now.

What's the deal with protein shakes and stuff etc?
Never used anything like it as a meal substitute. Just the odd gel when hitting the pain cave on a long ride. Worth having a tub of something in the house as an alternative to snacking on biscuits and crap? After a heavy excising session I get the munchies. A strong 800ml shake sorts me out.
As I'm also trying to gain muscle bulk for rugby. I tend to drink it in addition to my normal meals. The recovery aid thing is invaluble too.
.you have to be careful how much you take as large amount of protein can easily overload your kidneys causing them damage in the long run.
Did'nt know that. I'll cut back a little then.

What's the deal with caffeine and weight loss? Some say good, some say bad. Make up your mind The Internet.

seems to work for me when i want to loose weight, although caffeinated drinks tend to have lots of sugar in them so stay away from them. Never read any peer review articles on the issue though so i cannot really pass comment beyond my own highly unscientific experience.

+'s - more energetic, train harder, suppressed apetite
-'s - crashing, disturbed sleep, sweat, sweat
Strong sugar free coffee is the way to go, much more potent than any caffeinated soft drinks such as red bull, and less calories.
You could also go down the supplement route, green tea extract etc.

^ +'s yay, yay, yay!
-'s well i'm a grumpy old insomniac so no-one really notices the difference!

Coffee with sweeteners and semi-skimmed milk here. I can live with the sweat and the bad sleep, I can just put it down to feeling smothered in bed, she can sleep on the sofa.

speaking of which, need a coffee, then out on the fixeh.
..and Guarana on top of that. Not sure if Green Tea Extract has any caffeine in it.
