And coffee. Lattes have as many calories as a chocolate bar. Sneaky bastards.

Yep, they used to cock up my myfitnesspal every time I went to lmnh to say hello to sumo.
So I stopped.
Using myfitnesspal.

hmmm, not sure that's myfitnesspal's fault.....

Well, I've been cycling 10 miles a day during the week since uni started which has helped me lose a few pounds, despite indulging in way too many portions of fish and chips during the same time.
But now the 5 miles to college and back isn't tiring me out like before (I know it's nothing compared to some peoples commutes but it was originally a bit further than I was accustomed to doing daily, especially as it involves small hills at either end), so when it becomes a doddle I'm going to start running to keep the exertion levels up.

Approaching end of the first week of giving a diet a proper crack. Will weigh myself on Friday morning - 14 stone 2 pounds last week. Too heavy. Too much belly.
Can feel the weight loss already - not eating between meals, haven't had a beer in a few days. Can't pretend I couldn't murder a sweaty burger during every waking moment, or gnaw my own arm off. But still, it's fun.
No it isn't.
Only lost 2lbs, so bang on 14 stone now. Big disappointment, as I was reckoning on maybe 4 or 5, as there's a clear difference in my gut and I feel much lighter. Felt like little reward for a lot of effort, but I'm still sticking with it.

There is a sixpack there, it's just covered in blubber.
I suspect I may have to up the running.
Yup, your still too fat, probably over 10% body fat. To get shredded like you imagine will be alot of work, ie. smaller meals, more often with uber low carbs. keeping your Calories below 2200 for your weight (you can work that out your self) & upping the cardio.
Unfortunately you'll lose muscle too & the whole process is unsustainable. So have a goal, take some pictures & then get back to being simply trim & strong at your natural healthy weight.
If you do get your cut up mac-pack, let me know. We can all get spray tans & do the 'Guido Ride'

I'll grow my hair out, you book the spray tans.

Ignore the scales, stick with focusing on how you feel.

I more disturbing news I seem to have put on a kilo this week, I am consoling myself that I look and feel better, wish I was taking measurements to console myself Further as its a bit upsetting!
-

Without some kind of objective measurement, it can all add up to so much self delusion. Not obsessing over weight is good, don't panic about the occasional upward blip, commit to the long term - but don't lie to yourself.

i know, but i'd rather be heading southwards, rather than feeling like i'm putting it on!
it's one week so i'll be pragmatic, but if things don't start heading southwards in 2 weeks or so, then i'll be less so!
i know at the moment calories in < calories out but hitting the gym is clearly adding some weight in muscles.

Saw toothed wave here- weight varies by as much as a kilo, but overall trend is ever downwards.
Lightest so far is 75.4, with an indicated body fat of 9.8%, but can be 76.5 fairly easily and 10.1%.

I'd be very sceptical about those body fat figures. 10% is a level only reached by the leanest of professional athletes and bodybuilders.

Nobody with a genuinely sub 10% level needs to be posting in the weight loss thread.

It's quite probably that those figures are tosh- they are the ones generated by my scales, in theory by the magic of electrical resistance differences in fat/muscle/etc as it passes a current through your feet.
I'm 188cm and (this morning) 75.5 kg, everything else is conjecture.

Between July and October i put on 5kg through a combination of eating and drinking too much, but since October I've managed to loose 6kg.
Go me!
Plan to loose another 5kg by xmas, i find the myfitnesspal app is incredibly helpfull in achieving this, that and some serious self motivation.
It is making a bit OCD about everything i eat, but actually thinking about things carefully means I'm not holding back from doing things, for example i went out for a curry with some mates last night and had a lamb tikka and a plain naan with a couple of beers and still hit my daily calorie target.
-
• #1974
What is your daily calorie target?
-
• #1975
1200 net calories.
How much do you drink Brickman? Loads of calories in booze, and very easy to overlook when you are totting up your intake.
