Looking at the pattern. It looks like weight might stabilize for a bit before it starts going Down again.
I have this plan to be below 75kg for my coming mountain races. For the last week I've yoyo-ing. 75.6kg, 75,2kg, 75.6kg, 75,2kg, 75.6kg, 75,2kg. Soooooo Close. My training is moving back to longer intervals now. I'm kinda hoping this will help. Easier to get the fueling right.

For anyone who's interested, Libra for Android is a great app.
After my morning weigh-in, I enter my weight and body-fat percentage and it updates a graph with a 7 day rolling average and trend line. The trend line is really easy to compare to a blue goal line, which is really good motivation.
It tells me roughly what calorie deficit I've been running and can export data. Would recommend -

I have BC-543. I'm happy with the consistency and accuracy. Won't deny that it would be good if I could automatically log them via Bluetooth or wifi though.

Bit late, but my scales - not Tanitas - are way off, when they've been stored upright. I usually lay them flat, step on them, go sort breakfast and then step on them again. Seems to work.

Thanks for this... They did suddenly give me a 5% difference... Not had a chance to re-weigh over the weekend as am away from home, but back later so will have a look tomorrow morning.
However, having ridden the tour of Wessex at lunacy pace this weekend but stuffing all sorts of ride food down my gob en route, am not sure if I'll be heavier or lighter! Hopefully it will all be muscle mass if the former

Really happy With my Tanita. The base model, and about the size of a postage stamp. But very consistant.
I really want the new fancey garmin ones. On paper they look awesome. But....Garmin.

I can tell you now, Garmin scales would certainly not be hippy approved.

I'm always at my lightest following a night out. I like to convince myself that it's because I skipped dinner (ignoring the 2,000 calories that I drank).
1lb (454g) of fat = 3500kcal
2000kcal as fat would be 260g
After a night out the weight loss is usually just dehydration. That 260g is just half a pint of water in comparison. I know I need to drink a couple of litres of water (2kg) after a big night out before my wee is back to normal.
Steady at about 85kg for me (still 9kg to go) but the weight is moving from my gut to my shoulders/arms (lots of swimming is helping) so happy despite weight plateauing. At some point I'll be done bulking up and the weight will start to fall again.

Boom! Good going, an example to follow.

Thanks....not as good as yours....that was a great effort for this week.
But if I could maintain 2 pound loss every week....I'd be very happy of course.
And...don't do the pizza....you get by without it :) you know it makes sense. -

One note: We lose about 10% of our food intake as loss. (slightly more on protein)
So if you cut 500 cals...you really cut just 450.
Sounds minor but if you expect to lose exactly a pound ... well it can take 10% longer.Going to cut down a bit after bulking for a bit for powerlifting. Think I have to try carb backloading/cycling too... I am not very carb tolerant I think.
On low carb my blood sugar is very stable, but after a while I lose my mojo. Think I'm going to carb/calories cycle and see how she goes.
The kettlebells and the chinup bar are dusted off again.

I weigh the same as I did when I went on holiday two weeks ago and ATE ALL THE THINGS, but my waist is 2" larger.
This is not good.

You're in the 80s though, that's where I need to get too. Pizza will be eaten though, it's been too long without it, almost 6 months now. I forfeited my reward for getting below 100kg so I deserve this pizza.

• #10847
haha...yes i think you probably earned it.......make sure it's a good'un !!!
for me it's easier to just not have any of what i like....if i had one pizza i'd want another, one beer i'd want 8...etc.
I live on my own....that also makes it much easier. -

Back on the "only Muesli during the day" diet. It worked for getting down to wedding weight (mid-80kgs) so we'll see. When I did it the first time I was only riding 5 miles a day instead of 20 so this may be doomed to failure. The office has a good supply of mixed nuts so I may bung some of those in if I feel myself flagging. That or get some extra dried fruit.

• #10849
So you need to store scales flat? That's annoying.

That's annoying.
If you live on a boat?
