Drink of water afterwards or chew some gum after to take away the 'just had meal want sweet' finish feelings.

Go for fruit? It works for me. Still sweet but better than biscuits.
Also making lunch less carb based and upping the protein content seems to work as well. -

Raw carrot. They're sweet and bulky on the stomach.

Thanks guys. I drink plenty of water throughout the day, and normally top up after lunch naturally as I'm a bit thirsty from my run. Fruit or carrot sound like a good shout. I don't have a lot of control over what lunch is composed of, it's normally leftovers from yesterday's dinner (which my gf normally cooks) to save money.
Without wanting to annoy anyone struggling to lose weight... I weighed in just before xmas at roughly 68kg, which is lighter than I've been in over 10 years! I don't track my weight at home, but use my parents scales when I visit, and I don't really watch what I eat very well. Office snacks are the main offender (trying to combat that one), and one whiff of cake and I'll smash it into my face. Running more and anywhere between .75-1.5 hours of low intensity cycling to work (home moves, work stays still) have helped a fair bit I think.

Amazing what difference carrying round some extra timber/losing some fitnes does to my footballing ability - played 4 games this year and felt pretty crap in all of them.

If you really desperately must have something sweet and can't face trying to quell the craving fannying about with carrots or fruit, a small piece of very high cocoa dark choc tends to do the trick, and means you're not going to drive yourself mental depriving yourself of the good stuff.

That's also because you only played 4 games IN A YEAR.

I heard the big ones are better for you than the small if watching weight as they increase metabolism

"Fill up on healthy vegetables" they said. I've just eaten about 400g of kale. I feel very odd.

Yesterday I woke up after little sleep and mild hangover so decided to fast, hence the further kilo drop. It'll go back up today. Not sure if I'll ride this weekend or not. Maybe I should plan something.

The problem with this is if I have bar of chocolate I'll eat the whole thing!
-
• #10145
and can't face trying to quell the craving fannying about with carrots or fruit,
Pick up apple. Eat it.
Pick up carrot. Eat it.
Pick up banana. Peel it. Eat it.
It's not hard :) -
• #10146
I meant 'fannying about' as in trying to replace a genuine craving with something else - which tends to not actually put an end to that craving, meaning you eat the substitute (fruit) but then the chocolate too anyway...
-
• #10147
I go for the chocolate these days.
And what the shit are you doing on the weight loss thread Jim? -
• #10148
Haha i thought this would come from someone eventually!
I'm not trying to lose weight by any means. I ended up subscribed to the thread a few weeks back after a post about Tanita scales and now can't help have a voyeuristic browse every now and then.
Anyway, WTF are you doing here too?! You're only a few kg more than me i'd guess.

Ahh, ok. TBH dark chocolate works well for me too in that respect.

'Trust me I'm a doctor' on bbc this week concluded men are more likely to burn fat if they excersise before eating and women more likely to burn fat after eating.
I get massive sugar cravings after eating lunch every day. I'm full, I've eaten a good amount, but I "need" something sweet/sugary. This makes resisting any office treats difficult. Any advice on either something that will satisfy the cravings without just smashing a load of cookies, or how to break the cravings?
I run most lunch times so maybe it's just the "eat all the things" feeling?
