Hi can anybody identify this mech and tell me if it will work with Avanti carbon levers, thanks.
That's 8-speed, and if I remember correctly Avanti made a brief appearance and was 8-speed only.
It maybe be earlier Chorus... Jockey wheels are the earlier grey colour and as already mentioned look work. Check for play in the rest of the mech.

Ok, here is the bike I am considering buying. It's a Felt 2011 TK3
http://2011.feltracing.com/United-Kingdom/2011/Track/TRACK-Series/Tk3.aspx
I have a couple of questions about the components, mainly because I will be riding it around town and because when it comes to bike parts I don't really know how to recognise what they are, and are not capable of. Feel free to point out how I could do this myself (via website etc).
1) If I attach a brake, will the paint wear off the rim? Is the rim machined?
2) Would a flipflop hub fit if I removed the rear wheel and hub?
3) What would the wheelset be worth on the forums if I tried to sell it off?
4) I read that there wasn't any toe overlap on the 60cm frame. Can anyone confirm that via the geometry?
5) I also read that main chain components are difficult to find source because it uses 3/32 instead of 1/8. Is this really an issue?
6) The gear ratio seems high for cruising around town. How hard would it be to change, or should I just HTFU?
6) Anyone recommend a good pair of bullhorns and brake unit to fit?
7) Are they tubs or clinchers?Cheers!

Been asked to look at this for a friend, but all they don't know a lot about it. They were told it was an AMP3 bike - but having contacted Amp Research, they say it's not one of theirs.
Any ideas would be gratefully received...
(it's very light, so I'm assuming aluminium, but with those tiny welds it could also be Ti – the only mark under the bb is 'L6' or '97'?)It came with this fork which is where they must have got the Amp reference from...
and these cranks
And the rest was Shimano XTR.
Cheers,
Simon

I've been given a singlespeed that bears the name CHOK on the downtube, and says www.chok-sport.com on the chainstays, but the domain name is parked and attempts to UTFS founder on the deeply held beilef by Google that I am searching for choc(olates).
Anyone know anything about this brand? I suspect the bike was originally sold in France, if that helps at all.
TIA.

Thanks citron, found it at

Is this a create by some other name?
The front wheel had the slackest spokes I've ever seen on a bike. 5 minutes with a spoke spanner and it's now decently tight and true. I slapped some old pedals on it and it rides OK. I'll prolly ride it a bit to find out the joys of singlespeeding (and to HTFU - 44x16 gear) but I'd like to believe it won't fold up or turn to dust beneath me.

interesting bike. it's titanium unless the photos are deceiving. Steel would have some rust somewhere and i can't see a spot of it. FYI, but those are interesting parts. that fork is a classic. i'm sure it rides like shit now, but it's a classic.
nice frame. nice welds.

I'm after some more info on a frame before I decide whether or not to hawk it on eBay or keep it.
It's stamped on the bottom of the frame and the forks: 66382
Holdsworth?
But made from some italian steel I've never heard of - Tubi Oria 9506
Plain lugs on the frame:
And on the fork:
It came with a Tange Headset and a Cinelli stem and bars. Thanks for help.

I'm not so much searching for the identity of a component but looking for a specific piece and a review too:
1) Looking for a brake lever to fit a bullhorn. All visible aspects must be silver/chrome/polished
2) Thoughts on strapless toe cages/clips?

http://www.velosolo.co.uk/shoppedal.html (search MKS 'Half' Toe Clips)These look nicer than the ones I fitted years back for my wife to get used to toe straps. Even for those of us used to straps, the feeling of being able to get out easily can be reassuring. By not closing the top of the clip onto the shoe, they also do slightly less damage to the uppers, which is useful if you need to ride in your good footwear.
Don't believe the hype about being able to pull up though. They only really provide security against slipping forward on the pedal when pushing hard.

Hello all,
Can anyone help to identify this cool racer. All I know is that is from late 60´s or early 70´s, I bought from the Netherlands, decals say Van Oers (i suspect they´re not original), campagnolo dropouts, universal super 68 brakes, no tubes reference and the frame has panto´l lug with and (L) stamped...Any help would be greatfull apreciated:
