I did'nt use the word compliance once FFS!
Theres a vid from a french expo, With the rear Wheel being moved up and Down something like 8mm relative to the BB. Its practiacally a softtail. Yet BMC claim a BB deflection Equal to the team machine.

Actually check rear shifting if its mechanical. Theres a PITA kink thing in the chainstay which fecks with cable shifting.
Best to get Ultegra Di2 if you can.
That'd be another £250/£300 on top apparently. Is it really worth it?

I cant comment on Di2, or electrical shifting as such. I'm a mechy campy man. But my mate is having trouble getting nice rear shifting. He's running Athena 11speed, and narrowed it down to the rear cable run around the chainstay. Hes tried various types of cable and outer. But is still not satisfied. The frame is definitely designed for Di2. But it should work With mechanical too officially.
So hes contemplating a EPS Upgrade kit, or going full Di2.
I can ask him for more details if you want.

Thanks mate. If I'm going the full hog with this than I might as well get it right the first time. Last thing I'd want is to get annoyed with the gearing when buying my first new bike in over 5 years.

There's a good sale on at the moment. 25 to 35% off and I get the VAT back (apparently).

Yeah I've seen there is a sale on 2012/2013 models at evans atm but still way out of my price range. Never bought a brand new bike in my life- true fact.
The new disc specific GF is the stuff of my dreams though.

Chatted With him last night.
Yes the GF01 is dual drivechain (Canyon for example have separate frames for Electric and mechanical).
There are separate rubber plugs and cable stops needed for each set-up. So worth trying to Source both at purchase.
He cant be sure the shifting issues are Down to the kink in the chainstay. But you cant fit a cable liner in there (hes tried powercordz and gore sealed).
Hes always suffered a bit over long distance. That general body fatigue bike radar bang on about. But the GF01 has gone a long way to remove this.
As for the Ultegra Di2. Its a 700 note upgrade from mechanical Ultegra (of course then you can sell the bits you replace). So £250 seems a good price. But whether something is Worth the Money is Down to the buyer I Guess. I know I'd og for it (I'm a massive buyer though).
Hope that helps.

Thanks indeed. After doing a fair bit more reading it seems to make a lot more sense to spend a bit extra for Di2.

Help!!
I am trying to source a disc braked road bike for my dad. Been looking at a few options - Colnago C59 and Specialized Roubaix included. The BMC GF01 Disc has caught my eye, but it seems as though you can only buy the whole bike.
Is it possible, anywhere, to buy just the frameset?
I know Evans are now the UK distributor, I have called them and they said no.

Genesis Equilibrium? (steel mind).
-
• #869
It'd have to be carbon or stainless steel I think.
He is coming from a Giant TCR advanced, so wants a light and stiff frame, but with more comfort and discs.
Thought about the Synapse too, but that is u-g-l-y

Under EU law the manufacturer's warranty would be valid should you buy the frameset within the EU. Have you checked to see if one of the larger German online retailers carries BMC?

Good call - added it into consideration. Any others?
ANyone know anything about sourcing BMC framesets?
