They are a shite load better than nokon. I really liked mine.
Upgrading to vertebrae now though.
My new shifter arrived in the end. After much todo. Just need the cables to arrive, as well as my carbon slamdatstem bearing cover. Both of which are mad delayed FFS. Then I can get it fully renovated.
Will look to add a P2M over christmas.
It will then be the ultimate middle aged crisis bike IMO.

Obviously the fatbike is totally unsuited to mid January rides in Norway. 23mm tubulars are whats needed. So the BeeMc has been given to powerful lights.
Going to overhaul this over winter, with new cables, chain, cassette, chain rings, hoods, and bartape. Basically a big service.
It already has had the slem slammed with a 'Tester' bearing cover, new forks, and a new saddle.
I may actaully weigh it when I'm finished. Should be 6.4kg or there abouts.
Current cabling is for turbo use as I didnt expect this crazy weather. So it wont actually turn sharply without engaging the rear brake, or messing the rear mech. Meh.

Installed my P2M, and silly chainrings. Want to get some testing done before the big overhaul. But it feels pretty dialled.

Isn't it about time you upgraded the frame, SF?
-

Did you change the fork at some point?
I always thought the easton ones were a bit soft on mine..

Yes and no.
Its fully ugraded. Overly so. The overhaul is just expendables like chains, and cables really. Theres nowhere to go from here other than frame upgrade. Even a mid range carbon frame would probably drop 300g off it and push towards 6kg flat.
But it just suits me so well. Both in terms of fit and ride.
Very tempted to ride it till I break it.
Not that I havent been window shopping time machine framesets.

Swapped it in Autumm. Not had many miles on this one. My Easton was a stiff alu steerer one. It always felt rock solid. So even a weight weenie like me waited an age before swapping it (it was 500+ grams). The 3T feels the same to be honest. Dont thinks its an improvement outside of the hanging scales.

Dear all, I have a problem with the Streampost of my BMC SL01 ULTEGRA model 2011: it slips down. I wrote to BMC and they suggested me to go to Evans (the guys in Evans even don't know how to unlock the streampost) and "First of all, the basic adjustment must be correct in order to have the right clamping tension. Also carbon paste can be used to avoid slipping down. This should definitely solve the problem."
The streampost is not the original one that came with the bike, but the longer version. I have a 51 frame but it resulted small for me (always thanks to my ignorance in the road bikes field at the moment of buying it and to the "expert" help of Evans). I still have the original streampost and if I will not be able to fix my problem I will need to sell the bike (or frame).
Do you have any suggestions?Thanks

No longer using the Bebops SF?

Mine has a layer of that sticky screen protector film you can buy for Your Ipad, and then some carbon paste. Belt and braces.

Never had the Bebops on the BMC. They where on my commuter untill I broke them, and went back to crank bros.
Running Ti Keywins. Very light, very low, very solid feeling, and With a selection of axle lengths (mines a short). The float is between pedal and axle, so the cleat Connection always feel solid through the pedal stroke.

I also used some of this stuff on my SL01. Although it's a bit of an arse trying to cram the seatpost in with an extra couple of mm of film around it, It does work.
It's ultimately the reason why I sold my BMC though. I just couldn't be bothered with the hassle, especially if I had to disassemble the bike to transport in the car, bike box, etc.
edit - I also sold it because of the internal cable routing. That was such a ballache to sort out!

Google "Streampost SL01 slipping" there are multiple tales of woe and squeaking; design was changed on 2012 bikes onwards.
Fix appears to be carbon paste and shimming with some thin plastic stickers like mobile screen protectors

Well I fitted mine with film, paste, and a kindly donated rubber seal, from the start.
Its worked flawlessly.
I reckon it'll fit in my bike bag with the saddle slammed too. Hope so at least. I dont really fancey messing with the paste all the time.
The internal cable Routing is Nice for man handling the bike. I just tie the New cabl to the old and pull it through. Thread and a vacuum cleaner Works too.

Could maybe shim by wrapping the post with electrical tape

Any reason as for why not to buy a new Granfondo GF01 Ultegra Compact for less than £1,900? Other than that I'm thinking of buying it in Evans.

Needs sealing too.
My mate used electrical tape for that. I have the rubber seal. Thats aparantly where squeaking comes from. Like I say I've never had an issue.

My riding bud absolutely loves his. Masses of Comfort while still having loads of handling, and drive stiffness.
Hes having it repaired after some baggage handler crushed the TT.
We've been loooking at Cervelos etc. to replace it under Insurance. But he doesnt think he can improve on it. So is having it fixed up.

Actually check rear shifting if its mechanical. Theres a PITA kink thing in the chainstay which fecks with cable shifting.
Best to get Ultegra Di2 if you can.

Do you write for Bike Radar?
Haha, that's not why I asked, Andy!
