So where to?
Brompton Road for a street sign photo opportunity?
The Factory in West London, forewarning them of our trip, likely photos, blog, publicity etc just in case it persuades them to give us each a free in-frame toolkit? -
• #879
Oh we should definitely go to the factory.
And it's not because I then wouldn't need to ride more than 100m
-
• #880
or you could hop on a bus with the brompton and save yourself the hassle of unfolding it.

That rules out WE ride? Could be tricky?
Thoughts on that?
-
• #883
Laps of Swains? (not really)
Unlikely to be able to make a weekday ride, though factory visit would be good.
-
• #884
^^ Friday afternoon perhaps? Everyone will be winding down, right?

Factory is open 7 days.
Surely someone who can do a factory tour would be around... dropout?

Anyone know how to adjust the two speed dérailleur? I can't get my head around which bit is the barrel adjuster!
-
• #889
It's all done via the limit screws from what I could tell.
-
• #890
Has anyone got a 2 speed wheel they want to shift?
-
• #891
Isn't yours a 3speed? If your thinking of converting it you'll need a different chainset or your gearing will suck balls.
-
• #892
Hmm. TBH, I haven't really thought this through. It's a six speed. with 2 working speeds.
I want new cranks anyways, as these are at least ten years old and flex a wee bit and I'm scared of them dying. And I want a new wheel.
-
• #893
Ah, can't remember off the top of my head but 2sp and 6sp might share the same chainring so you could spread the cost.
Did you buy that fuck off great fridge in that other thread?

I took another look and that makes sense. The bits near the spring look like barrel adjusters but don't actually do anything.

• #898
You know how Bromptons are dirt magnets and get thickly coated with grime and crap from the road.
Well... has anyone sprayed their Brompton with NeverWet yet?
http://www.neverwet.com/I am really considering it... I reckon the combination of superhydrophobic and superoleophobic should mean that the bike could never get dirty in the first place.
Not sure what would happen to the braking surface on the rims though.
-
• #899
Where can you buy it from? I've wanted to cover almost everything in it for ages but I've never seen it for sale.
-
• #900
It's on sale at Home Depot in the US, and whilst that's inconvenient it's at least possible to get someone to ship it from the US.
The shipping costs currently exceeds the cost of the stuff, so I imagine it's better for a few of us to buy some and to ship a number at once to reduce the per unit shipping cost.
No idea how effective it is, but it's $20 for a 2-can pack (1 can of spray-on base coat which does the work, and 1 can of spray-on top coat that cures and activates the base).
I figure if the shipping costs can be pushed down, that it's worth a punt.
