What's the difference between 2019 & 2020 models other than price?

In a further development in Bikefix on Lambs Conduit being shit, the new 3spd hub they installed won’t shift down into first gear (I’ve not been using the Brompton much since they rebuilt it).
Any advice on how to tweak the shifting so that I can shift down? There are many more hills where I now live...

Thanks. The jam nut is jammed tight - any tips for unjamming it?

The nut on the indicator chain?
-

You need two pairs of pliers.
Use the adjuster to shorten the cable to get first gear.
(bike shops that tighten the indicator chain with anything other than fingers should be picketed and/or razed)

Finally got around to replacing the stock Brompton tires with Schwalbe Racers. Blimey, that's a big difference to the feel.

Thanks, that's a good idea. Just need to find another pair of pliers...

The bit that's labelled jam nut on this picture

Aye, simply two pairs of pliers, just need to be backed off by hand, when you reset, check the 8mm nut with a spanner, bet that’s slipped

Speaking of this, I've lost my jam nut (it fell off somewhere during BWC and I ended up doing it as single speed). Does anyone know what size it is to get a replacement? Cheers

I feel left out, my jam nut has no issues.
-

Hah, I don't even have a jam nut on my Brompton.

I got some spares, send me an addressed and stamped envelope and I can pop one in?
-

Glad to hear your nuts are okay!

^ Still IMO the best-looking special edition paint job; through probably a bugger to touch up...

Anyone need a left folding pedal? Or a BWR hub? Or a 50t black chainring?
-
• #7998
Cheers, I'll drop you a PM shortly.

Do they crack below the slot?
-
• #8000
At the bottom of the slot, cracks go horizontally
I'll have to keep an eye on mine.
