I’m speculating, this hub wouldn’t be a good choice, 4 external cogs would be much lighter, but I doubt as functional as even the 2 speed.

Literally the same as 2 speed, but with 4 sprocket at the back.

From the test riders, the range is good and people say it’s a step up from the longer range of 2 speed. But only time will tell.

Yes, but the reliability, cost and functionality will ultimately be worse for the customer looking at the possible ways of doing so

At a total guess, they could make the free hub wider inwards to take a fourth sprocket, which they can’t do with the IGH models. Would probably need a more elaborate shifting mechanism though.

Getting four sprockets on is no issue, just use a different hub body: the mech is the issue!

Very common, people not changing the seat sleeve, seat post slips and they keep tightening the clamp. Seen it so many times!
