Wife tells me Chav originates from 'Cheltenham average'. She's a Stroud girl. So i think that could be your answer.

@MetalMelly you're correct about the origin of the term. However this happened in Swindon, where all hopes and dreams go to die. @dancing james don't worry you're far enough away to avoid the stench of this place.

Note to self: just because it was a warm spring day yesterday doesn't mean that it will be this morning. Numb feet and #nearlyallthelayers* this morning.
*Second note to self: leg warmers don't keep your legs warm when they are in the chest of drawers at home and not on your legs on a freezing ride you dumb fool...

Chav originates from 'Cheltenham average'
I can confirm. Born and raised in Cheltenham, feel a bleak chill descend whenever I hit the Cotswolds on my way back home to visit.

Grew up near malvern. Nights out in Cheltenham were referred to in Apocalypse Now terms as trips to Nam.

I mentioned Nam to my wife and she yelped at the memory! It all flooded back! She might know you. Oh God........

Haha. Where's friendsreunited when you need it.

A fairly typical 45-miler around the usual London/Kent lanes today, except I remembered to stop for a pic of my favourite amphibian related road sign in Knockholt.

44 miles. Circuits of Regents Park again. Fewer Sunday riders out than I expected. Fabulous weather. Sadly some poor sportsman being airlifted out of the Park added a sad note to the end of the ride. Hope he or she is OK.

Nothing really to brag about but i went out on the Sunday bike and did twenty miles into Kent. First time I've done that in about two years.
Mojo returning.

115km zip around Herts with the club. Really quiet and lovely lanes with very few drivers. Need to head this way more often. Accidental gravel section took one guy home early with a derailleur explosion.

Yay for mojo!

Lovely loop in the sunshine around the Cheshire lanes yesterday.
Linked in a single climb up Artists Lane around Alderley Edge for which I set a PB by 1 min and 20 seconds, so really chuffed with that!
Yes - the towers separates 20cm on a 100 year basis.
