  • Wore 90g thinsulate leather gloves, hand numbness significantly reduced. Also reduced was overall speed, thanks to beers last night and the insane head/cross wind.

  • Star Lane, was particularly bad this morning, pretty much the whole lane was covered in fly tipping

  • Taking advantage of sunny day forecast Saturday and a few hours to fill decided to do circuits at Regents Park. I'm addicted. 12 outer loops later I'm in a groove but running out of time so leave the park and unwisely chose Burger King as my refuelling stop. Burped Whopper for the rest of the day. Ugh.

  • So many people out there today! Beautiful blue skies, lots of pretty bikes spotted, horrible wind.

Rode the Down to Downs, saw @fussballclub mentioning it on the audax thread and decided to give it a go.

  • First 100k for a while blatting through villages parallel to the A15. New tyres and up a tooth at the back made it feel like cheating.

  • Visiting my mum over the weekend and brought my bike.

Rode from Coventry to near Tamworth and jumped on the canal path. Another cyclist said if I keep following it i'll get back to Coventry - 30 miles of tow path later and I finally get back. Half way through the tow path kind of just disappeared and turned into wet grass, which got a bit sketchy. Super fun though.

  • Much respect to the brompton rider attempting L2B offroad yesterday. The last stretch of the South Downs was totally waterlogged. Then no trains running out of Brighton :(

  • Double loop of hosey hill and ide hill today. Started cold but soon warmed up. Quite enjoyed it lots of cyclists out

  • So many people out there today! Beautiful blue skies, lots of pretty bikes spotted, horrible wind.

Same situation here yesterday. Relaxed 130km spin with some gravel in the middle

  • Did just shy of 80 miles (about 78.5), huuuuge hill climb in the middle. After lunch cycled the 4 to town, ended up getting jumped and punched in the head a half dozen times. Blood all over the bike (was pinned against a wall, straddling bike between legs, with one guy having cycled into my side). Paramedics and police statement later, 5 miles back.

    Kinda tired now, face hurts.

  • What???? Why? What did they want from you? Did they get it?

Crikey take care buddy. Sometimes pain and shock are worse in the days following.

  • Is that in Copenhagen? Looks like a hotel I've stayed at. Out of town. Marshland and grassland surrounding.

  • Hotel Bella Sky?

  • Yesterday 120km from +20 to -2 degrees. Snow, rain, sun and sleet. Wrecked me for today's 120 managed of 160km supposed to ride. Which was sunny and beautiful.

  • Yikes. Sounds horrific. You ok? Where was this?

  • @MetalMelly @rhowe in chav central, my home town. It was payback for standing my ground two weeks ago when one threatened me over an imaginary comment - he heard me say something to him when I hadn't even realised he existed - told him to clear off. Two weeks of shit every time he saw me in town, threatening to 'bag' me among other things, til today when his mates were near enough to catch me by surprise. He ran off after shouting I was going to get nutted, and I thought nothing of it. Someone cycled into me into my side as I stood near a wall and pinned me while laying into my temple and jaw.

Didn't go down, didn't get knocked out, but jaw fucking hurts and nose is swollen. Glad I have a thick head. They ran off sharpish. Police etc later, cctv caught their faces prior to incident but not the attack. Typical.

The ride was cool though, some insane high hill climb near Stroud.

  • 30 ish miles yesterday, gf company, beach roll, then some pace after that. thank fuck its summertime again, only 30 years worth of winters ridden

  • Where are you? Am living near Newent so not too far from Stroud, what town do I need to avoid?

    Heal up fast
