Why has nobody suggested going to the police? He has stolen your wheel, Paypal has his credit card details on file, therefore it will be very easy for them to trace him. He's actually a bit of an idiot for trying this, it's not like he's not left any details of who is he is, he's totally traceable.

It's not much hassle for them if you can get the address or tell them Paypal have the address to send a car round and put the frighteners on him - give him the option of returning the wheel or returning £70. Most thieves aren't stupid enough to use their own credit card details (assuming he did and he does intend to deprive you of the wheel).

i sent the payment and confirmed before i picked up the wheel that he got it , then im geting call's yesterday explaining that the payment had been reversed ? so i log into paypal and my balance is still 35.00 as it has been for a while . i explain whats happend and 'beau' tells me that its been reversed to my cash card , so i go to the bank get a bank statement out and no 70 pound has been refunded , i know this all seems weird but i dont think ive done anything wrong here ? ive been buying and selling on the forums for like 2 years and nothing like this has ever happend before

Um, yes, I'd say so. But you have PMs between you presumably arranging to meet and talking about the wheel? I'm not suggesting they will do much or prosecute or anything like that, but if you get a fairly helpful cop who believes your side of the story they may be prepared to pay Russel a visit to hear his - and would hopefully be able to use their 'discretion' to sort it out.
