The situation reminds me of another incident, here. It had to with a forum member seeing red after someone posted a picture of a crashed plane with Putin advertising polish remover. The mother of the said member had died in the crash.

So, the thing is: for one to be able to act accordingly would require the said individual to be aware of everything happening. That could be cut down to just the threads of this forum, but even then it'd be a chore.

While I've never quite come to understood why Dancing James has amassed such a bad reputation, I haven't felt the need to try to understand it, either. That is why I chose to disregard the thread. I thought it was just another thread about DJ.

I rarely venture outside Bikes & Bits and Miscellaneous & Meaningless. If I were a native and interested in seeing the LFGSS posse, I believe I would check threads regarding Beers and be more of a presence, but this is not how it is. I guess this is why 50/14 has slipped under my radar.

I leafed through the 50/14 thread. Never met the man, but from what you lot wrote, he sounded like a fine creature. Still, as I've never met him and can't honestly bring myself to feel bad about the passing of an unknown, well, I can only apologize for my post.

So, yeah, I will not censor myself in the future, but if I fuck up, I can man it.

And to stay on topic: what DJ did with 50/14 was fucking noble. Can't in any way or form deny it.

She hadn't died in the crash directly, but there were still circumstances connected to the crash.

Frankly, James is my friend.

We converse through the forum, over email, on the phone and even face to face. This is the case with many forum members and I have many friends on here whom I also converse with outside of the Lfgss domain.

James, occasionally, runs certain things by me and I've calmed him in some circumstances and told him to let rip in others. He is very aware of how quickly he can rile certain types of people. Whether he does it for sport, or with malice is anyone's guess, I would personally think it to be more of the former but some of the vitriolic diatribes that he's capable of definitely contain some venom.

Alongside the social interaction shared by so many forum members who ride together, drink together and talk shit with each other. James and I (Along with Pigfarmer and Dropout) had the very real responsibilityhonour of looking after a dear friend of ours during the closing weeks of his life.

Sitting alongside a hospital bed for an extended time, helplessly watching as the friend under the sheets losses the struggle of their life, spending every waking moment trying to make their life as enjoyable and comfortable as possible will provide a great sense of camaraderie between the people involved. It is for this reason that James and I interact in the way that we do, both on and offline.

James can be a chore at times, an outright bore at others. And I, along with many people, can become frustrated with his perpetual bating of people. Say what you will about James but have the common decency to do it to his face. He is no saint but I, for one, am proud to call him my friend as I have seen humility in him which his biggest detractors are unlikely to be able to match.

There's no real need to bring Paul into this thread, someone could have just asked Skunkworks to edit his post and Arantrak can edit his quote.

Some people who were at a little drink in Paul's favourite watering hole a couple of fridays ago, to celebrate his birthday, will remember me trying, inarticulately, to get everyone to chill out on DJ, and why, in a rather awkward conversation. I know that others there had time for what I was trying to say. I think that was just after he had been suspended from posting for a bit.

I have been thinking about DJ for a while, in relation to some things that have happened in my life, and see some parallels. I don't presume to know that much about James. But I consider him a friend.

So I'm going to say it in a PM or phone call to James. Look out, muptard.

There is no witch hunt for DJ, just forum self moderation and its sorted itself out, DJ seems to have stopped his self destruction and this place is getting back to its "norm"..... but for the love of baby jesus can we please not have any more threads about the cunt.

To those who see me as aggressive - I am generally tolerable until someone has a go at me. From then on I am always willing to escalate, sorry it's in my nature.

I prefer to contribute than denigrate, though recently have found less and less to add to and in my frustration have possibly (have in fact) behaved like a cunt.

I am quick to anger, slow to forgive and forget. My depression is inverse to most peoples seasonal fluctuations and I get worse as the days lengthen.
